Senior Vice President - Cash Operations - Bank (16-20 yrs)

This role is with leading European Bank in Chennai.

The platform is operating out of 2 locations in a dual office mode from Mumbai and Chennai.

The Headcount is in the range of 150-200 HC.

- This team is involved in pre-processing & payment activities covering the following scope of products (but not limited to): Loans, Domestic and International Remittances, Cashier's Order, Demand Draft Issuance, Cheque Issuance, Collection & Clearing . The Head of Department will be responsible for (cf Key Results Areas section) - Department operations management : Quality & Time delivery / Operational Risk - Transitions (Systems, Processes on-boarding) - Change Management & Continuous improvement Initiatives (qualitative and quantitative - People management and development

Operations management : Quality & Time delivery / Operational Risk

- Put external customer of the bank at the fore and ensure seamless service delivery as per service quality levels agreed upon with client sites (Cutoff, Error rate)

- Ensure strict adherence to Anti-Money Laundering / Financial Sanctions controls described in standard operating procedures and to promptly escalate any resulting hit for analysis and decision

- Ensure that the relevant control framework is in place and key controls are rigorously implemented to mitigate Compliance and operational risks. Ensure strict adherence to internal guidelines, legal and regulatory requirements. Consistent review and updates of operational procedures (SOP) on those matters.

- Proactive / timely management reporting and ensure adherence to incident reporting policy

- Ensure all recurrent or ad hoc internal / external audit are well prepared and observations or findings are well discussed, challenged, agreed and followed-up for timely implementation

- Regular review of staff system profiles and accesses to ensure the required accesses are valid

- Ensure effective cost control discipline. Monthly cost control / review.

- Ensure systems issues are tracked, reported and mitigated by IT teams

- Change Management and Continuous Improvement

- Drive continuous improvement to review and streamline operations processes to converge towards better STP Rate, to improve Turn-Around Ti me and to minimize error rates

- Challenge existing controls plan with the aim of continuously minimizing residual risks

- Propose / Contribute to new systems/features deployment and coordinate with IT & regional management teams.

- Behave as one of the senior referent on Cash Management Operations within Global ITO community and continuously build an end to end operation/process workflow perspective Transitions / Projects

- Actively participate / contribute in projects / initiatives driven by central and/or regional Cash management ITO and/or Business

- Active participation on ad hoc tasks and/or projects as assigned by Management from time to time

- Contribute / Lead some of CIB Transformation Initiatives for Corporate Banking (regional organization towards target operating model, digital transformation)

People : 

- People Management and development with a focus on coaching Middle Management & Talent

- Hire, Groom and Retain good talent. Define, plan and implement continuity & succession plans

- Maintain and develop a strong expertise around cash management products and services

- Promote a department mindset around continuous improvement, change management and innovation

- Minimize attrition - except under performance- related attrition-

- Ensure staff are well trained for their roles, are up to date with new policies/procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, and comply with bank mandatory requirements Transversely, Head of Department is responsible to maintain, challenge and build the appropriate & transparent governance with all stakeholders listed supra.
