We are hiring for a Senior Vice President - Banking Operations for our Financial Services client based at Pune location. Position Description : Manages multiple business units typically through direct local management and strong partnership and collaboration with global functional managers. Has leadership responsibilities within specified location/s representing the business group. Participates in the leadership and strategy of the location/s. Reports directly to CEO. Core Competencies and Responsibilities : - In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge and 18+ years of relevant experience - Demonstrated experience in managing and providing thought leadership and oversight for large and complex operational and/or service and delivery teams, minimum of 500 staff. - Proven, strong people management, coaching and development skills - Influencing and persuasion skills to work with peers, partners, executive management and external parties to implement change. - Analytical and problem solving skills are required to understand client, product and operational complexity and guide subordinates in the resolution of non-routine and complex processing, regulatory or client onboarding activities. - Business or financial services qualification or studying for same - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact and manage expectations with senior level audiences, stakeholders and clients - Strong experience in change initiatives including operations, IT and product development; track record of accomplishment in large, complex projects and change initiatives. - Highly flexible and adaptable to change. - Actively participates and sponsors leadership forums; exemplifies a cohesive and empowered leadership behavior which contributes to the success of the organization as a whole. Develops a reputation as a sought after business partner. - Instills a culture of continuous improvement and actively pursues opportunities to assist in achievement of productivity goals and increased quality and exceptional client service Talent Leadership : - Builds strong team relationships, owns team member development and delegates for growth - In collaboration with global functional managers, sets clear expectations, manages priorities and resources and removes barriers to team success - Actively assesses and addresses performance, differentiates performance and rewards and recognizes achievement - Educates others on needs and issues specific to the region/location/s; ensures that regional functional teams are resourced appropriately to meet regional needs - Attracts and develops senior leadership - Ensures key role pipelining and succession planning - Works with peers and local leadership to develop and lead initiatives to increase workforce diversity, increase retention and improve staff role satisfaction; champions organizational goals such as diversity and inclusion - Promotes staff cross training, rotation and collaboration - In collaboration with global functional leaders owns local promotion decisions VP &amp; below Operations Management Responsibilities : - Responsible for managing multiple units or functions through the direct management of a group of managers - In collaboration with global functional managers, monitors and achieves capacity and productivity targets set for the unit - Manages within the strategic parameters and vision established by the global functional leaders and regional executive/s - Drives and delivers high quality service to internal and external clients Functional/Product/Client Responsibilities : - Active involvement in industry operational best practice. Articulates / promotes regional needs and considerations for the functional area - Proactively establishes opportunities to increase level of client knowledge through regular discussions with Functional Heads, RMs and others - Actively supports and assumes responsibility for the success of client and prospect Due Diligence visits to the location and showcasing local operational processes, capabilities and talent - Develops and maintains relationships with key NT clients as appropriate - Maintains appropriate level of technical, product and industry expertise to perform role responsibilities. Guide subordinates and partners in the resolution of non-routine and complex processing/regulatory or client onboarding activities. Keep abreast of industry and regulatory developments as applicable to the portfolio of business units under remit. - Actively participate in activities which enrich the client experience including product enhancements. Work collaboratively and consult with peers, partners and clients on effective ways to meet client needs. Strategy and Planning Responsibilities : - Owns, manages and plays an active leadership role in significant new migrations to the location and in regional priorities as appropriate - Supports location strategy within a country and a region as applicable - Develops regional functional policies, processes and procedures as needed within the framework of the Global Practice, working with Control, PMO &amp; Risk as needed. - Identifies, articulates and promotes regional needs and considerations for the functional area - Works closely with global functional managers in overseeing processes / projects to ensure communication and smooth implementation - Recommends enhancements to regional processes and policies - Obtains, analyzes and synthesizes market intelligence for the region/locations - Provides insights to functional leadership regarding local opportunities and threats along with recommendations - Challenges processes, procedures and strongly represents what the business needs to achieve success - Leads and sets tone for business unit culture - Plays an active part in space planning; ensures optimal use of space and oversees future space plans in line with growth/migration expectations. Financial Management : - Develops, oversees and manages the expense budget for the business group at local level in close collaboration with functional owner and business unit manager. Accountable for performance results in line with financial targets. Risk &amp; Compliance : - Establishes guidelines and monitors implementation of activities as per guidelines - Assures adherence to Risk &amp; Control, Compliance standards - Applies knowledge of local laws and regulations to business practices to ensure compliance - Accountable for business continuity and ensuring location resilience
