Senior Statutory Auditor - Accounting Services Firm - CA (2-6 yrs)

Responsibilities:
- Enter and process client accounting transactions in the appropriate accounting software on a regular and timely basis.
- Monitor the portal for assigned clients on a regular basis to ensure all transactions are processed in a timely manner.
- Perform compilation procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
- Develop technical competency with GAAP and various accounting software systems used to provide the FAO services.
- Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.
- Communicate proactively with other firm associates regarding open items, problems, or other important matters in a timely manner.
- Adhere to prescribed budgets and deadlines.
In the set-up and initial stages of audit work completed from India:
- Oversee multiple engagements for the assigned areas of work, and be responsible for resolving accounting/auditing issues that arise during the audit engagement
- Understand and apply accounting concepts and auditing procedures
- Establish/document/follow/improve the processes to support the audit work from the India office.
- Participate in work transition to India office, client onboarding, etc.
- Identifying audit issues and effectively communicating these to the engagement manager primarily through electronic means.
- Ensuring procedures, policies, and all applicable regulations are correctly followed and complied, including completion of required engagement checklists
- Develop, motivate and mentor associates by providing training, regular feedback and career guidance, while fostering a team environment
- Review work completed by the team members.
- Draft and assist in the delivery of US GAAP financial statements for any assigned areas
- Maintain regular touchpoints, and work as a team with U.S. teams to ensure client delivery expectations are jointly met
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and Adobe PDF documents preferred
Post set- up and stabilization of audit processes, there could be additional work responsibilities such as:
- Gauging levels of financial risk within organizations.
- Financial statements review
- Research complex accounting issues and auditing procedures
- Draft and assist in the delivery of GAAP financial statements
