I. GENERAL INFORMATION

Job Title: Enterprise Architecture

Reports to (Position Title): Head of Technology

II. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

- The Enterprise Architect defines an Enterprise wide technical target state, in conjunction with the Head of Technology and other members of Technology and business aligned teams. In addition this person will then drive the Technology organization towards that state with hands on help and interaction and continuous review in the light of emerging technologies, techniques and best practices.

- The Enterprise Architect is accountable for creating a future target state overall Technology strategy and ensures that all IT initiatives are advancing towards the target state. This position will drive the acceptance and adherence to the technology target state across all groups within both IT and, to the extent it applies, the business to ensure compliance.

- This person needs to have a deep understanding of Front (Investment Process, Trading, Sales, Distribution), Middle (Risk, Compliance,) and Back office businesses. S/he is able to translate business needs into appropriate architecture solutions that take into consideration the ever evolving opportunities that emerging technologies present.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES -

- Design and drive the technology, application and information architecture vision

- Assist and support the Head of IT in accelerating business transformation.

- Illustrate a deep understanding of how both current and future technology can be used to drive business transformation

- Foresee business disruptions caused by technology advancements and change

- Understand how certain Technology choices present different risk profiles and understand how to monitor and manage those

- Communicate and advocate for architecture across IT

- Support Business & IT strategy by providing architectural and strategic consulting in the areas of Architectural principles and best practices, adherence to standards etc.,

- Identify IT trends and directions

- Investigate new infrastructure technologies which provide solutions to current problems

- Work with the Head of IT on Technology lead Innovation

Architecture Governance : Serve as part of Governance Board, Serve as point of review and approval for key issues, significant projects and decisions

X. QUALIFICATIONS & Key Skills -

- 15+ years of technology leadership with 7-8 years of EA domain experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience;

- Hands on understanding of technical design

- Deep understanding of the business and the ability to discuss technological terminology in business terms

- Substantial experience in architecture development and project management

- Effective organizational and cultural skills to drive and implement major re-engineering efforts

- Experience in managing in a complex financial service environment

- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills as well as a strong capability for teamwork/collaboration across organizations

- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to:

- Big Data technologies (storage and analytics)

- Native cloud application design

- Digital channel delivery

- Operating systems internals, benchmarking and performance tuning, systems admin

- Web applications servers

- Databases

- Storage

- Middleware

- End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers

- Complex Event Processing, Grid, Data Grids.
