Senior Research Analyst/Lead Analyst - Credit Research

Role

- Carry out fundamental credit analysis of corporates

- Identify bonds and communicate the buy/sell/hold investment idea to the client

- Prepare/ update credit models including peer analysis, relative value analysis and calculations of key credit quality determinants

- Preparing thematic presentations and industry decks, such as those highlighting key sector trends, emerging risks, or potential turnaround candidates

- Regular surveillance of assigned portfolio by proactively tracking the company events (including quarterly earnings), peer group and other industry information sources

- Working on M&A and refinancing deals

- Support the client with any other ad-hoc research requests

- Engage with client teams proactively and suggest new ideas to enhance client engagement

- Responsible for client and project management, need-based trainings, process initiatives and quality improvements of the team

Candidate Profile

- Background in conducting credit analysis of corporates, especially European Investment Grade names

- Strong knowledge of fundamental credit analysis with an ability to identify bonds and recommend buy/sell/hold ideas

- Very good grasp over business drivers and how they translate into assumptions while building financial models; defending assumptions with conviction using logic and in-depth research

- Good understanding of covenant analysis, capital structure analysis and recovery analysis

- Independent and decisive mindset

- Critical thinking skills

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Good awareness of global financial and macroeconomic trends

Essential Qualifications

- MBA/CA/US CFA with around 4-8 years of experience in credit research

- Buy-side (fixed income) experience or exposure to bond markets; alternatively, experience in covering US/UK utilities

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA/CA and CFA Level 2 cleared OR Buy-side experience

- Working knowledge of Bloomberg is preferred
