Description : 

- The Senior Public Policy Manager will be an experienced public policy professional who will develop and execute government affairs advocacy objectives, priorities, and plans on behalf of the company, its customers and partners on key policy issues related to e-commerce and consumer protection. The individual will represent the company before politicians, bureaucrats, policymakers and relevant agencies, and provide high-quality information and guidance to the business.

- The Senior Public Policy Manager will work collaboratively and transparently with colleagues across the Indian and global public policy teams, and with business clients and partners across India.

This position is based in New Delhi, India and reports to the Head of the Public Policy Team in India.

Basic Qualifications : 

BS/BA required; JD or Advanced Degree preferred, law degree or advanced degree not strictly required but would be a strong plus.

- A minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience with  and a keen working understanding of  policymaking, including the mechanics of legislative and administrative policymaking process and procedures, effective lobbying techniques, and collaboration with other companies and trade groups.

- Candidates will be able to demonstrate their experience through work within government, companies, consultancies, trade associations, or equivalent organizations.

- Prior experience with steep learning curves, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.

- The ideal candidate will have experience working on issues related to state and central retail and e-commerce policy, and have experience interacting directly with the government and elected and appointed officials. Must be a highly motivated individual, a self-starter, proactive and with a clear bias for action; also capable of earning trust internally and externally.

- The ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen. Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships and networks with others
