In practice, our client provides its member organisations the resources and training to build their capacities to address concerns like: - Living wage for workers - Auditing working conditions - Business and Human Rights - Ethical Trade and Fair Trade Reason for the hire: With the path of action and agenda drawn for the next 5 years, our client is seeking to hire a dynamic individual as the Senior Programme Manager, Operations to provide leadership and operational support for the development of the India Office and programme work, in alignment with the Strategy objectives of the organisation. The Senior Programme Manager will closely work with the Regional Director, South Asia. S/he would be required to build and maintain healthy relations with the internal and external stakeholders comprising of the internal staff to ensure effective cross functional activities of learning, fundraising and membership services as well as with member representatives, key institutional and programme partners, particularly business, civil society, trade unions, industry associations and government. Roles and Responsibilities Stake-holder Engagement - Communication with stakeholders both internal as well as external. - Work closely with Regional Director and other Units within the organisation to promote effective communication, learning and the creation of information products related to work. Programme Co-ordination - Effective collaboration and co-ordination with the Regional Director, Programme Unit and member organisations, to develop, implement and manage allocated supply chain work. - Engagement with stakeholder to ensure there is tripartite engagement in programmes and their voices are heard in the development of supply chain activities. - Analyse trends in the supply chain, identifying issues and taking corrective actions. Training and Business Development - Liaison with key programme partners programme partners, particularly business, civil society, trade unions, industry associations to share key learnings, experiences and review. - Work closely with the Regional Director to effectively implement the regional strategy and operational plan. - Explore new opportunities for business development that is in line with the regional strategy, foster new relationships and oversee timely delivery. - Assist in monitoring the execution of the regional strategy and support in any necessary reporting. Finance Management - Assist the Regional Director and budget holders in ensuring all programme related expenditure is properly documented and justified following the policy. - In collaboration with the Finance unit, ensure that donor funds are used as planned and are fully applied against allowable costs. - Help in the creation of programme budgets. Must Haves - Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as business, economics, humanities, Development studies or related fields. - Minimum 7 years of relevant experience advancing the cause of sustainability and or ethical trade. - Sound knowledge of supply chain mechanisms and processes. - Operational expertise in identifying training needs, conducting and managing training modules. - Adept with the laws and compliances guarding the interest of workmen in India. Highly Desirable - Exposure to procedures and practices of fair trade. - Understanding of how ethical practices can integrate into a supply chain.
