Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager of Transformation Office is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of strategic finance transformation engagements specifically focusing on direct and indirect tax across the group of companies. This role involves ideation, roadmap definition, business case, AS IS analysis, TO BE design, technology enablement, team leadership and effective project management to ensure that tax solutions effectively support business needs.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the leadership and functional teams to understand the pain points and define the initiatives, roadmap, system interventions and the benefits realization plan across Tax functions
- Act as the internal strategic advisor for finance related processes and systems and guide business and operational teams towards achieving best-in-class organization by being up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in Finance
- Coordinate with tax stakeholders to identify digitization and continuous improvement opportunities with respect to systems, processes, and reporting to drive efficiency & cost optimization
- Ideate, own and deliver key tax transformation initiatives either with internal teams or external partners to drive business needs
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide implementation of new tools and adopt industry leading practices
Operational responsibilities:
- Conduct business analysis on the challenges, identify root cause and socialize improvement opportunities with relevant finance, business and IT stakeholders
- Facilitate efficient project planning, resource allocation, tracking, and reporting to ensure successful project execution and value delivery
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly assess the success of the programs
- Identify, evaluate, and select the required tools and technologies to meet the project needs and collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and partners to achieve the desired outcome
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the delivery of required system changes, integrations and other technology requirements
Project management:
- Set up and lead the required project governance, stakeholder management and change management structures in place
- Socialize regular project updates with the leadership teams and proactively highlight risks, roadblocks and dependencies in the necessary forums and provide options for resolution and decision making
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of selected technology interventions ensuring they integrate seamlessly with existing project and technology landscape
- Define data collection and reporting requirements for project management, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
People management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Frameworks, Boundaries, & Decision-Making Authority:
- Operates within the framework and boundaries of comapny policies as well as overall organizational and governance frameworks
- Authorised to take decisions as per the approved authorization matrix
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Qualification:
- 8+ years of consulting or finance experience focused on tax processes, systems and reporting
- Chartered Accountant or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- Understanding of tax operations, tax rules, requirements and demonstrated experience in managing enterprise wide tax transformation projects and/ or tax continuous improvement initiatives
- Worked on any leading ERP solutions and tax products and solutions such as Vertex, Onesource, and Oracle Tax etc. with a focus on process optimization, digitization and automation
- Experience in Real Estate and Construction industry, Tax knowledge for GCC, and certifications in Project management methodologies (PMP/ PRINCE 2/ Scrum etc.) is a plus
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
