Strategic :
- Provide inputs to Head Project Management in developing the annual supply chain and logistics plan & Budgets
- Identify and implement process improvements for optimizing logistics and procurement processes
- Monitor identified metrics to track the performance of the logistics function
- Evaluate new vendors for Supply Chain and Logistics, on specified parameters (e.g. performance history, delivery capability, infrastructure) and make empanelment recommendations
Operational Planning, Procurement & Logistics :
- Coordinate with the research team/users to understand their requirements
- Preparing the demand forecasts for items required based on project plans and prepare the logistic plan accordingly
- Identify vendors for sourcing the items requested by the research teams
- Facilitate / organize meetings / technical discussions between vendors & users
- Source key starting material, intermediates, raw materials, fine chemicals & solvents from the domestic & international market, lab types of equipment and any other requirements
- Handle import-related formalities and documentation for import of the required materials and goods
- Liaise and coordinate with external transporters (for domestic shipments) / freight forwarders (for exports shipments) for pickup and delivery, as per approved dispatch schedules
- Track shipments status and ensure materials and goods are delivered to users as per committed delivery timelines
- Track and publish MIS / dashboards for identified metrics
- Attend to and resolve user complaints related to the delivery of goods
Vendor Management :
- Build a network of vendors / suppliers for sourcing needs.
- Maintain relationships and ensure flexibility in respect of sourcing of urgent requirements
- Monitor vendor performance and review the effective implementation of identified vendor development projects (e.g., vendor audits, progress reviews, feedback on remedial measures, vendor meets, vendor recognition programs)
- Ensure payments are made as per agreed timelines
Inventory Management:
- Supervise the labeling, storing and retrieval of items in the store
- Managing Research Chemical Library and team
Compound Management :
- Responsible for compound management laboratory
- Introduce automation and robust processes to ensure accurate weighing of research samples.
- Establish a strong process for tracking sample movement, Ex from Chemistry to Biology, Chemistry to Formulations, Formulations to MFT, Formulations to external service providers, etc.
Process Improvements :
- Implement identified improvement projects in procurement/supply chain processes, in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders (for example, delivery improvement, cost reduction)
- Implement regular customer feedback and systematically follow-up improvement opportunities
- Connect with SCM teams of other business divisions to understand and update the knowledge of changes/trends/vendors
Audits & Compliance :
- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures, related to procurement, and supply chain processes
