Senior Manager - Strategy & Planning - Steel & Mining Firm (4-7 yrs)

We have been mandated by a large global conglomerate into the steel and mining industry.

Position Name: Sr Manager Strategy and Planning

Location: Kolkata

Qualification: CA or B. Tech with MBA

Experience: 4-7 years

Purpose of the Job:

a. Facilitate development of Long Term Strategy of the Company

b. Formulation of Long term Plan (LTP) and Annual Business Plan (ABP)

c. Facilitate Review of corporate plan - ABP & LTP

d. Evaluation of new business proposals

e. Track competitors action at the market place and provide market intelligence for strategic decision making and developing external and internal risk matrix.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate Development of long term strategy:

Provide actionable insights on competitive intelligence, macro-economy and industry trends impacting steel industry (Eg, New business opportunities, the impact of China on steel industry, long term view of raw material prices, emerging technologies, etc)

2. Formulation of Long Term Business Plan:

- Facilitate formulation of Long term plan

- Facilitate LTP projects identification & review Periodic updating & review of Long Term Plan

3. Formulation of Annual Business Plan:

Facilitate formulation of Annual Business plan for Company's Management Development & cascading of Apex BO&S

4. Facilitate Review of corporate plan ABP & LTP (Including Risk):

- Develop review dash board for the company and ensure all key items are reviewed

- Facilitate reviews on ABP and LTP

- Prepare ABP tracker, LTP status & Apex MIS Analyze deviation against plan and report to Top management

5. Prepare ABP tracker, LTP status & Apex MIS Analyze deviation against plan and report to Top management:

- Assisting in a setting of KRAs of functional heads linked to BO&S and periodic tracking of their performance.

6. Provide Inputs to Board :

- Board presentation on LTP & ABP Performance analysis

- Response to specific queries of Sr Management and Board

7. Evaluation of new business proposals :

- Prepare business proposals based on emerging opportunities

- Techno economic evaluation of business proposal in discussion with all concerned departments

- Facilitate cross-functional strategy teams to evaluate ideas and recommend strategies/actions
