Sr Sales Manager

The company is one of the fastest growing education startups in India serving more than 100,000 students . They recently raised VC funding from a well know VC firm. The company's products deliver a seamless mix of standardized content + exams + personalized content based on the exam performance.
Their team includes alumni of IITs, ISB, NID, RAND Corporation (USA), Teach for India and many other reputed institutes with expertise and passions ranging across product development, technology, education psychology, design, data science, sales & distribution and supply chain mgmt. Role : The company is looking for Sr Manager - Sales (SMS) for Tamil Nadu, AP, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra markets.
- The SMS will be based out of key cities like Madurai, Hyderabad, Tirupati,, Hubli-Dharwad/ Belgaum and Nagpur, etc.
- The SMS will be responsible for hiring, training, leading and managing 7-10 sales team members and business partners.
- The SMS will lead from the front and support the sales team and franchisees/ distribution partners to exponentially increase sales revenue by providing strategic input, training, other necessary support for new sales, etc.
- The SMS will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager for the state.
Goal's:
- Take the company to 250-300 schools in the area over the next 2 years.
- Recruit sales team and develop sales channels and deploy them based on local context.
It's a high energy job which requires the SMS to spend close to 70-80% time in the field working directly with sales team, franchisees/ distribution partners and customers.
Required skills and experience :
Sales Skills and Experience : 3- 6 years of sales experience with at least 2 years in B2B sales (e.g. IT, Media, School education, Medical equipment, etc) with a track record of meeting/ exceeding revenue targets.
Team management : At least one years as a team manager with an ability to lead, coach and mentor the team
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Problem Solver: Should be able to identify roadblocks and find solutions.
- Quick learner. Should be able to understand the market dynamics quickly and make course corrections.
- Aggressive approach to getting things done. Should be a self-starter and task focused.
- Customer empathy: Should understand customer's pain points and should be able to pass on the feedback to the service/ product team immediately for action.
Desirable attributes :
- Experience of developing channel partners and managing them.
- Graduation/ Post-Graduation from a reputed institut
