- Ensure all Legal / Local statutory / Client EHS requirements are compiled and updated on regular basis. Keep informed the key concerned stakeholders.
- Prepare site specific EHS plan for the projects and get approved from Client as and when required by client.
- Identify critical EHS issues, performance gap, improvement areas and develop strategic EHS objectives, targets and action plans of the region aligned with Corporate EHS guidelines.
- Coordinate with Line Management to implement Fatality Prevention Plan (FPP) as per corporate guideline at all sites in the region.
- Coordinate with site safety engineers/ officers of all sites on regular basis and ensure EHS systems are in place without major or recurring deviations and resources are available. Proactively escalates issues as appropriate for effective resolution at the earliest.
- To assess and manage key risks pertaining to EHS; conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments, JSA, prepare method statement etc. and implement control actions prior to start the job.
- Support Line management in implementing EHS and sites remain free from major hazards & risks.
- Visit all the sites as per the pre-defined number
Qualifications for Safety Manager :
- Certified in NEBOSH, risk management and health/safety management
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
- Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards
- Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures
- Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment
- Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement
- Ability to prioritize tasks especially when handling an accident or incident
