The Role:
- The role would require participation in collaborative research between academia, industry, and ecosystem partners; and integrate resulting approaches into our projects. As such, researchers are expected to:
- Building relationships and serving as a domain expert when working with external partners or clients, participate and serve in the research community (e.g., conferences, consortiums, industry bodies, academia)
Key Responsibilities:
Establish themselves as a Subject Matter Expert :
- Shape and build on ideas collaboratively developed in partnership with senior business leaders
- Design a research agenda addressing key C-level issues in area of expertise
- Define and manage new and complex thought leadership research projects
- Drive innovation through combination of new research tools, techniques, and approaches
- Be a talent magnet
Influence and Execute Thought Leadership Agenda, including:
- Shape and lead development of external thought leadership, targeted for various audiences, in close collaboration with senior business leaders.
- Design and deliver innovative and complex research projects agreed upon with business leadership, participating in both their conception and development.
- Supervise and mentor more junior researchers to successfully complete their responsibilities and assist with career progression
- Continuously learn about new Chemicals and Natural Resources areas that are strategic growth priorities for the business
- Participate in projects as a representative of your area of expertise
- Discuss issues or trends within area of expertise to raise client and/or company's awareness
- Act as a contributor in external publication mediums in your area of expertise
- Publish and present in top tier conferences, workshops and journals
Enhance the company's marketplace reputation, including:
- Work confidently with internal and external networks and other thought leaders on key relevant
- Demonstrate expertise internally (e.g. presentations to internal audiences, participates in community of practice, etc.) and externally (e.g., presentations in conferences, to clients)
- Build deep relationships with teams in partner organizations
- Build deep relationships with researchers from academia
- Actively contribute to the research community and establish external reputation as expert.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in chemical science or economics. A post-graduate degree/qualification in chemical science, business, such as business (MBA), economics or equivalent is a plus.
- 10+ years of business experience, preferably in a consulting environment, equity brokerage, third party research organization. This could also cover global/large private corporation or institution, Research Consultancy, Think Tanks, Research role at Management Consultancy or Management Consulting experience with track record in Thought Leadership focused on Chemicals / Natural Resources.
