Manager - Procurement/Sourcing (Agrochemicals)

- Drive the implementation of optimal sourcing strategies that align to the organizational objectives and deliver value to the business across all segments by ensuring timely availability of materials and services as per applicable cost and quality standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Adhere the procurement strategy including material classification, sourcing strategy, vendor selection, limits for lead-times, vendor management policy, etc. for various procurement categories including raw materials for Agro Solutions.

- Preparation of cost comparison & awarding of POs.

- Periodically analyze the usage pattern for various materials, lead time, market cost variations etc., for modification in the procurement strategy.

- Establish procurement policies related to master production schedule and inventory in accordance to the best practices in the industry and internal company policies.

- Identify risks that can impact supplier delivery and guide the department to develop mitigation plans based on risk and vulnerability analyses on spend areas.

- Adherence the process of identification and selection of new vendors across markets with the purpose of developing reliable partners to enhance service capabilities.

- Conduct commercial negotiation with identified vendors and suppliers for major/ critical procurement to ensure best possible terms of procurement for the organization

- Conduct plant visits, undertake reference checks and other background study to evaluate potential vendor capabilities.

- Perform techno-commercial audits at the Supplier / Vendor facilities in coordination with the Quality department and other user departments.

- Ensure complete documentation of all purchase agreements with vendors and ensure adherence to performance & quality standards as agreed upon by the approved vendors.

- Identify alternate channels of procurement, develop local vendors and explore other innovative techniques to ensure cost effectiveness of operations.

- Constantly monitor market trends, information and pricing of key raw materials to ensure market competitiveness.

- Identify need for strategic alliance/ tie-ups for timely supply of materials and prepare plans for finalization of the same.

Qualification And Experience:

i. B.Tech or BSc with PG in Materials Management with Experience of Minimum 10+ years in Procurement/Sourcing in Agrochemicals Industry.

ii. Good business acumen.

vi. Good communication & soft skills.
