Purpose of the job
The Sr. Manager-pre-sales, products and proposition and bid management will sit within the Commercial team in South Asia and support new business wins, and growth of existing client revenues in South Asia. The person will work closely with the AP regional business solutions team to deliver KRAs for the position.
Working with Business Development, the primary role involves developing compelling proposals for prospective clients, which are commercially viable, creative and inspiring. As owner of the pre-sales function you will be responsible for end-to-end management of bids.
This would include gaining a deep understanding of the groups products and propositions globally, supporting the commercial team in identifying relevant products and propositions that are suitable for market, work with regional and global product, marketing and operations teams to identify areas of localization and ensure all assets contracts, pricing, marketing collateral are available for the proposition. S/he will work to both build greater strategic capability within the business and provide inputs on product / proposition development representing the unique needs of South Asia.
The role will include tracking industry insights, and evaluating new products and propositions based on client/prospect feedback and market trends, representing this in regional and global forums and collaborating with products teams to bring qualified propositions to market.
The role is a customer facing role and requires strong collaboration skills with min 5 years in pre-sales and/or product development of customer engagement solutions.
Key Responsibilities -
This is a critical role in the South Asia commercial team and will act as a center point across key BD & Client conversations and will help lay the groundwork for successful acquisition of new customers and scale revenue for the market.
The key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1. Gain complete knowledge and understanding of all the groups Products and related Operational processes.
2. Maintain broad knowledge of market and competitive landscape
3. Lead product sales support for client facing team
4. Liaise with global and regional product managers/owners to understand product nuances and localize them for South Asian clients
5. Liaise with Regional Ops team to optimize delivery processes as per local market requirement
6. Participate in Sales conversations and lead BID management while responding to RFPs
7. Craft visually inspiring sales pitches for the BD in collaboration with creative and marketing as required
8. Support / lead product demo sessions and walk-throughs, manage product FAQs
9. Work with Commercial team to identify areas of product development and differentiation in the market
10. Develop and own product and proposition strategy for the market
Knowledge, skills and experience required
Knowledge
- Awareness of different loyalty programs across travel, retail and financial services sectors globally and South Asia
- Awareness of trends in consumer behavior, digital evolution, technology sector and e-commerce
- Understanding of agency business management, dynamics, processes and business models
Skills
- Excellent Powerpoint and Story-telling skills
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and should be able to thrive in complex conversations
- Ability to understand and capture business processes and technical requirements
- Ability to multi-task and work on different projects at the same time
- Knowledge of strategic, conceptual, consultative selling
- Able to understand the commercial and customer objectives and metrics relevant to benefits/loyalty/ CRM programs
- A detail oriented strategic thinker, able to effectively assess a prospect/ clients business and formulate propositions that are innovative, compelling, visionary and commercially/ operationally sound
- Strong at influencing, through written and verbal communications
- Energetic and motivated to create new and better solutions, in collaboration with others
- Strong Excel and analytics skills advantageous
Experience
- University graduate or Professional Management qualification
- 12-15 years client facing / product experience in Financial Services/Banking/Loyalty/ CRM / Direct Marketing agency or management consultancy
- Experience in working under pressure, managing multiple tasks and stakeholders
- Experience in developing customer propositions advantageous
- Digital/mobile/social marketing experience advantageous
- Sales or Business Development experience advantageous
