Senior Manager - Plant HR - FMCG (8-10 yrs)

Job Description

Position Title : Sr. Manager - Plant HR

Pay Grade : Sr. Manager (M2)

Location : Dehradun

Reports to : DGM-Human Resources

Type of Role : People Manager

Qualification : MBA-Human Resources (Tier 1/Tier 2 B Schools)

Experience : 8-10 Years, preferably with FMCG Industry background

Job Responsibilities :

1) Business Partnering :

- Support department heads by providing HR perspective on business strategies on Talent requirement, productivity, capability development.

- Proactively partner with business to create innovative HR Solutions

- Proactively partner with the department heads to continuously improve the overall organizational productivity, develop and maintain a performance driven culture.

2) Talent Acquisition :

- Partner with the Plant Leadership Team and Departmental Stakeholders to understand business plans for proactive hiring/talent mapping

- Drive recruitment analytics in unit for partnering in the defined operating areas

- Creating the most appropriate recruitment strategy by providing sourcing, selection solutions via careers page and candidate database, social networks groups, advertising campaigns, employee referrals etc.

- Utilize multiple assessment tools available (In line with the hiring need) and conduct a formal assessment process for hiring right talent for the business needs

3) Talent Management :

- Initiate Talent management plans and succession planning

- Facilitate and support Talent Review Meetings

- Select and develop high potential candidates for key positions

- Build and maintain a powerful talent pipeline for all functions by means of professional application of standard Processes and tools like 9 Box Grid.

- Analyze the business needs in terms of talents and competency upgrades, both quantitatively and qualitatively, align the competency of people with the business need

- Develop the process for talent movement across departments

4) Performance Management :

- Review and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention and employee experience.

- Ensure consistent application of the performance management system

- Partner with the Compensation and Benefits team for all annual increments & KPIs

- Provide the departmental HODs with appropriate information on compensation and benefits programs and policies, work closely with the Compensation & Benefits Team to coordinate the annual merit and performance bonus process, take part in discussions and reviewing proposal initiated by line managers, and perform internal and external benchmarking

5) Capability Development :

- Strategize with the leadership team and develop capability development framework in sync with the need of the business.

- Implement the framework and continually reviewing the progress of the same.

6) IR & Statutory Compliance :

- To ensure 100 % statutory compliances at the Site as per the Labour Laws and State Rules in force and to maintain the records/file returns as per the acts.

- Monitor status of Statutory compliance at regular frequency

- Manage the disciplinary issues at Site and implement progressive grievance redressal practices

- Take part and presenting management perspective in the discussions at various forums on matter pertaining to labor disputes

- Liaison with local bodies like district administration, labor directorate and factory directorate.

7) Contract Labor Management :

- To ensure the Contractors meet the contractual obligations effectively and to achieve the desired objectives/purpose of their contracts.

- Ensure Contractors productivity and compliance.

8) Networking :

- Build strong professional relationship with key external stakeholders and Government authorities.

- Interact with the Heads of Department at Site to understand their key requirements and impact of HR initiatives.

9) Change and Risk Management :

- Analyze key HR processes and incorporate suitable & relevant leading industry practices.

- Analyze key risks to the organization with reference to legal, local community, industrial environment, safety & security and other areas.

- Implement systems for contingency management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

- Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles and practice of Plant HR

- Knowledge of full employee lifecycle processes-hiring, on-boarding, probation reviews, performance reviews, development planning and separation.

- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment

- Ability to set high personal goals and work independently

- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks

- Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues

- Strong knowledge of disciplinary proceedings, statutory compliance and Industrial Relations
