Senior Manager - Operation - eCommerce

Role and Responsibilities:

- Responsible to efficiently manage the Intra city Milk run operation management.

- Owns and delivers the operational budget for functional area, including safety, financial and labor planning; as well as operational goals

- Responsible for providing strategic level/long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) including vehicle planning, cost forecasting, and peak season planning

- Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; works on strategic projects that have network-wide impact. Effectively leverages the Operations Managers to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges

- Networks with other leaders across the network to solicit and share process improvements and drive efficiencies and cost savings.

- Managing and working with team of Operations Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations

- Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.

- Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, S&LP and IT etc) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in his/her area, as well as providing needed support

- Able to address operational and personnel issues affecting functional area.

- Surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, along with ideas for solutions, to Sr. Ops, General Manager and / or HR

- Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable functional areas to meet and exceed business plan.

- Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of operations.

- Will set and clarify requirements and expectations for Managers. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.

Basic Qualifications

- BE/ B.Tech Engineering from a reputed university, Operations or related field. MBA Preferred.

- 12+ years Operations Management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution environment.

- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques preferred. Excel skills required

- Direct team management experience

- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment

- Knowledge of Capacity planning, Distribution Network planning, Network maintenance, Quality and cost improvements, performance and metrics management.

- Strong Analytical skills: Effectively analyze and interpret information, identifying & validating the key facts, including reviewing alternatives to determine advantages and associated risks.

- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly. Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented.

- Availability to work on flexible shifts and extended hours.

- Conversant in local language and English.

- Has demonstrated ability to influence others without having positional authority

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting customers internally and externally

- A technical degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or operations

- Good knowledge of MS-Excel
