Senior Manager - New Category Development - Media Firm (8-14 yrs)

The New-Age Category Development team will focus on evangelizing the power of Television as a medium by partnering new-age businesses in their scale up journey. This team will identify and connect with founders & marketing teams and VC funders of upcoming brands in the early-stage startup world to help them accelerate their journey to reach out to mass market consumers by leveraging the strengths of channels and OTT offerings and its arsenal of powerful TV influencers and thus help Disney-Star network to further its advertising revenue goals.


The Start-up ecosystem in India is booming with record numbers acquiring unicorn status in the past few years. VC funds flush with cash are fueling this boom led by founders with imaginative problem-solving ideas. Multiple brands in e-commerce, D2C, Fintech, Edtech space have been able to scale up their businesses by creating new categories or challenging established players. There exists a huge pool of early stage startups that can rapidly scale up with the right kind of brand building and marketing partnership.

Intuitively, the founders and business team of such startups rely on social media and Digital marketing to reach out to early consumers. TV as a medium, we believe, can help accelerate such brands' journey to reach mass consumers and help brands achieve critical mass and help ring fence from competitive risks.


Looking for a dynamic professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to front this initiative within their region by leading the new category development team that is expected to be the to be a key link between Digital -first brands and our network. You will lead a team of passionate business development executives to help drive new advertising revenue for the network from new age businesses.

You will be responsible for :

- On-boarding New-Age startup businesses and help them grow in their brand journey.

- Building and delivering the Ad Revenue pipeline for the business

- Mentoring and grooming talent within the team to build a formidable team

- Build a shared culture of innovation and execution excellence to drive business growth


- Achievement of the assigned revenue targets

- Gathering market intelligence with respect to Competition, Clients, Agencies and overall business landscape to further our business objectives

- Developing preferred channel partnerships with market
