Job Summary : - The Senior Manager, Operations is a permanent role that requires strong business acumen and deep knowledge &amp; experience in the Merchant onboarding domain for payments business - payment gateway - offline &amp; online acceptance. The role will focus on the KYC due diligence and risk assessment associated with the client onboarding covering all aspects of business model validation and compliance. The successful candidate is required to manage, - KYC due diligence - Onboarding Compliance &amp; Audits - Projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness Candidate's core focus areas will be: - Client onboarding framework / Policy including policies and procedures designed to enable businesses to collect payments through Razorpay while mitigating risks related to fraudulent, suspicious and illicit activities, and noncompliance with Card Brand rules - Assess Third Party Vendors to assist in onboarding due diligence / KYC validations, AML activities, and onboarding risk management (including identification and blacklisting of high-risk accounts) - Review and present Daily/weekly /monthly data on onboarding trends, business types, case studies and agent performance and efficiency Key Responsibilities: - Monthly review with relevant business heads and other senior stakeholders - Sharing of onboarding metrics with relevant stakeholders, forecasting volumes and implementing plan of action - Gather ground-level insights and work with product teams to ideate and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency &amp; TATs - Suggest ways to improve customer experience based on feedback from merchants - Talent acquisition, retention, and career progressions - identify and groom talent, plan succession and provide inputs by means of monthly 1 : 1's to individuals - Escalation Handling - Handle escalations to satisfaction, conduct RCA, implement corrective and preventive measures - Liaise with external law enforcement authorities, empanelled lawyers, enforcement directorate, EOW &amp; any regulatory body to represent the organisation along with the legal team wherever necessary - Reduce fraud losses and provision for the same in the budget (line with industry standards) People and Talent : - Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values - Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners - Uphold and reinforce the independence of the second line Merchant onboarding function - Stimulate an environment where forward planning, prioritization, deadline management and streamlined workflows and collaborative, inclusive yet effective and efficient work practices are the norm - Develop communications strategies and plans that deliver timely and relevant messages to the right stakeholders through appropriate activities and channels Core Values : a) Merchant Onboarding Management : - Stay abreast of industry existing/emerging risks. Networking with acquiring partners, Visa, Mastercard and NPCI are critical, have regular meetings with folks from the association to be up to date on market intelligence - Identify and share industry best practices and work with cross-functional teams to assess their feasibility and implementation - Evaluate latest practices/tools to identify next-generation onboarding and onboarding risk detection system - Develop a collaborative relationship with regulators, peer payment facilitator, acquiring/issuance banks and fraud risk industry forums to help detect changes in onboarding compliance and mitigate any potential risks. b) Regulatory &amp; Business Conduct : - Display exemplary conduct and live by the Organisational Values and Code of Conduct. - Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the organisation/function. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. - Lead the Onboarding team to achieve the outcomes set out in the organization's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment - Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters - Exercise authority delegated by the organization &amp; maintain complete transparency Key Stakeholders : - Internal Stakeholders - Products, process support, operations, technology, design, marketing, corporate communication &amp; business - Banks - Acquiring &amp; Issuance - Auditors and Regulators - Associations (Visa, MasterCard, Amex and other Regional / Local forums) and peers/ Banks - Law Enforcement agencies - Suppliers, vendors and consultants - Business Heads - Business CEOs - Business CIOs - Chief Information Security Officers - Legal Head - Compliance Officers - Anti-Bribery and Corruption Officers Desired Skills and Experience : - Proven experience in onboarding and risk management, senior governance and policy, early fraud detection, or audit role, preferably in the compliance field domain - 8+ years of overall experience in Merchant onboarding and Risk, preferably in the payments business - Experience in transactional fraud &amp; surveillance domain preferable - Relevant experience with global card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX) would be an added advantage - Graduate degree (Master) and/or professional certifications have an advantage (CISA, CFE, CPA, etc.) - Strong networking, negotiation and collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively in a complex multicultural and multi-time zone organization - Strong analytical and program management skills - Risk Management and Control: Good working knowledge of the organization's approach to risk management, specifically as applicable to Retail Risk Operations - Governance, Oversight, and Controls: Strong leadership capabilities and management skills, with the ability to deliver effective controls within Retail Operations through both directly-managed and virtual team - Regulatory Framework and Requirements: Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role of Head, FRM Channels &amp; Products
