Senior Manager - Medical Underwriter - Insurance (8-10 yrs)
Vacancy for Senior Manager - Medical Underwriting (Chief Underwriter) with a leading insurance company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Be the chief underwriter for retail underwriting function
2. Lead a team of medical underwriters through Assistant Managers and Team Leaders (current team strength being 22)
3. Ensure safe keeping of medical underwriting guidelines
4. Perform revision, re-writing of UW guidelines
5. Mapping product performance with Actuaries team
6. Finalizing UW manuals for all product lines
7. Responsible for retail underwriting for high net worth cases
8. Manage and advise junior members of team
9. Training of underwriters (medical as well as technical)
10. Training of branches
11. Interaction with Agents
12. Carry out Audits, finding discrepancies and close the gaps
13. Spearhead the ISO certification function
14. Handle customer grievances and queries
15. Manage legal issues
Requisites :
1. MBBS / BDS / equivalent medical degree
2. Should have 8-10yrs experience in the underwriting function
3. Excellent clinical knowledge
4. Proven leadership skills. Should be managing a good size team in the current portfolio
5. Should be a team player
6. Should have excellent communication skills
7. Good training skills
