An overview of the department and the role it plays to contribute to the organizational objectives. The marketing department fulfills the critical role of creating and driving the brand imagery and perception relevance or relationship with our TG and our brand/organization. This helps create a pull for our brand & thereby for our products driving the business revenues. Marketing shapes the image of our organization, how people associate the organization's products or services and indeed give people the confidence about our products & services - in short creating brand recall.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

An overview of the job and its contribution to the organizational objectives Key position in the Marketing (Corporate Communications & Events) team conceptualizing, creating and executing key events for the organization, targeting our key stakeholder's employees & business partners and their employees. These experiential events build longlasting relationships, loyalty, and salience for the brand - motivating our key stakeholders to perform better and deliver beyond their expectations achieving the objective of business and revenue generation as per our organization's goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Main duties, tasks and responsibilities of the role :


- Work closely with all the stakeholder teams within the organization, understand their business objectives and provide strategic and tactical marketing and communication solutions to the team.

- Conceptualize, plan and execute various events for the organization achieving the set objectives through the following:

- Understand the team's business/strategic objectives and get a detailed brief for each event

- Plan and organize events with excellence withing the given budgets

- Meet and manage respective stakeholder teams and coordinate with them regularly and always keeping them updated

- Coordinate with procurement for event agency onboarding 


- Prepare the RFP and follow the process

- Create all event-related creatives and collaterals for communication and branding as per brand guidelines

- Ensure consistently & desired brand impact and result through the events

- Negotiate with vendors to achieve optimum impact

- Manage events within the budgets through proper planning

- Evaluate the event's success and submit reports

- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight schedules

Essential Desirable :

KNOWLEDGE :

- Understanding of a defined system, practice, method or procedure within or outside.


- Understanding of business domain, different functions, processes and channels.

- Flair for strong strategic thinking, innovation & ideation, conceptualization, good communication & creative designing. 


- Sound Sales and Marketing Concepts, 


- Creatively inclined. Preferably with a previous stint with an event management agency.

WORK RELATED SKILLS :

Critical skill sets required for the role


- Interpersonal skills : the incumbent is required to interact with cross-functional stakeholders and should be able to establish good working relationships and coordination with key partners.

- Must be a proactive planner consistently

- Good presentation skills conceptualization & strategic thinking abilities

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

- Adherence to operational processes

- Adherence to accounting (billing & payment) processes & budget management

- Overall ability to manage Event Agencies and other vendors with a strong performance orientation


- Prior experience in managing Advertising & Event management agencies briefing, evaluating output, giving proper unbiased feedback

- Ability to control them with a firm hand and getting them to deliver within agreed deadlines

- Budget planning & control ability to foresee the audit and risk mitigants

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE :

- Number of years of experience required for the role within or outside or any specialized experience required for the role

- Proven track record of performance with at least 6-8 years of experience as an events manager. Skilled in project management.

- Knowledge of marketing & promotional techniques for the event.

- Computer savvy; proficient in Ms office & Excel 


- Good communication & negotiation skills.

- Excellent organizational skills.

- Team player with leadership skills.


- Min. 4 years experience in Marketing/Advertising/Events.


EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

- Level of education, professional qualification, specific occupational training/certification required for the role


- Full-time MBA, with a specialization/Post Graduate degree/diploma in Marketing/Advertising/Event Management. 


- A course in advertising or event management. Sound knowledge/perception about innovations in marketing communications latest communication mediums, the potential of digital and social media in marketing.

GEOGRAPHY RELATED :

- Applies to roles where geographic fitment is critical.

- Language Fluency (eg:read/write/speak - Hindi/ Marathi/Tamil etc) or if the candidate should belonging to or has worked in specific geographies


 - Must be fluent in English, Hindi.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

Additional criteria, critical to the role. 


- Understand the life insurance category, products and processes. Sound knowledge of marketing and communication fundamentals. Expert understanding of event management principles. 


- Understanding / keen interest and knowledge of various sub functions of Marketing and ability to envisage the bigger marketing experience for the end user and customer, with a 360 degree approach would be an added advantage.
