Senior Manager - Manufacturing Audit - for a leading Chemical Conglomerate

Our client is a publicly listed, multiproduct Indian conglomerate with an annual turnover of over 4200cr with a multi-product portfolio spanning industrial chemicals, bulk and speciality fertilisers, farming diagnostics and solutions, technical ammonium nitrate, mining services and consulting and value added real estate. They currently have 4 manufacturing facilities and are establishing 4 other green field projects across India eyeing 2x turnover globally. They are looking for a DGM-Project Development based out of Mumbai.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, you will be responsible for:

- Formulating annual technical audit plan for manufacturing sector; reviewing CAPEX requirements; evaluating performance of manufacturing units in terms of ROI, capacity utilization, wastage, raw material management and consumption norms; identifying areas of improvement, cost optimization and ensuring roll out and implementation of technical SOPs and making recommendations on the effectiveness of the existing controls.

- Formulating annual technical audit plan for the manufacturing sector in consultation with the President - Manufacturing and the respective Head of Operations

- Reviewing technical CAPEX requirements and utilization vs. impact on performance of manufacturing unit as well as quality of product. In other words, assess ROI on Plant CAPEX investments

- Reviewing consumption norms vis-a-vis budget and identify reasons for deviation; reviewing progress of various projects implementation in the manufacturing units to ascertain and comment on their effectiveness vis-a-vis the projection made at the commencement of the said projects;

- Reviewing technical SOPs and identify areas for improvement; following-up on management action plan and review for achieving closure as per agreed timelines; evaluating quality parameters on areas such as repairs and maintenance.

Ideally you are a Mechanical/Chemical Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in technical audit, preferably in the fertilizer and chemicals sector. You should have sound understanding of the manufacturing process and sound knowledge of contracting and bill passing processes. You should have a thorough understanding of quality parameters in a manufacturing set-up. You should have strong analytic abilities and should be ready for the next challenging role in a growing organization.
