Senior Manager - Logistics - Chemical/Pharma/Manufacturing Firm

Job Description : Type of Industry & work experience required:

Experience in Chemical/ Pharma API Manufacturing Organization / Bulk Import or Trading Houses

Responsibilities :

Coordination - Internal, within the Company between departments & External, with logistics providers and Government authorities.

People and Process - Interact with people to understand needs and service it to their satisfaction by following proper process and protocols. Maintain interpersonal relationships and cohesive work atmosphere. Guiding team towards effective and efficient work orientation.

Planning and Scheduling - Plan and schedule activities in a manner that there is seamless movement of goods resulting in cost and time effectiveness

Systems and Compliance - Ensure that all rules and regulations laid by the Company and regulatory authorities are adhered to and complied resulting in minimal errors. Develop and follow system generated approach to derive all benefits of such activity

Documentation and MIS - Understand specific needs of each Customer / Country and create templates or checklist of documents to be maintained. Ensure correctness of documents at every stage of activity. Compile data, gather information to convert it into MIS to take strategic decisions.

Budget and achieve targets - Prepare annual budgets for logistics and monitor the same to achieve the same

Communication - Have clarity of thoughts and expressions in a manner that others understand your requirements.

Negotiation - Share broader business perspective with prospective service providers to derive the best mix of cost and services. Pick undertones of discussions and channelize towards a win-win conclusion.

Proactiveness - Anticipate work based on previous experiences and be proactive to plan multiple ways of addressing the same

Proficiency is using digital platform for logistics activities - Being tech savvy, Data sourcing, compilation and MIS.

Knowledge:

Logistics - Transport and shipping Industry working - Mandatory

Maritime news and updates, IT compatible work culture - Mandatory

Chemical Trade and Industry w.r.t hazardous chemicals handling - Proficiency

Oracle /SAP & IT systems working - Proficiency

Awareness of general accounting and laws laid by authorities - Awareness
