Job Description:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Drafting, negotiation and closure of entire contract portfolio as well as looking after entire notice and litigation management for and against the company along with addressing day to day legal issues.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Contract Management:

a. Drafting, negotiation and closure of all general and franchisee agreements;

b. Preparation of Agreement MIS on regular intervals. Tracking of renewals and other major triggers under the contractual relationship.

c. Proper storage of original agreements.

d. Timely revert on the drafts for early closure;

e. Research on finding appropriate judgments for better interpretation of the contractual understanding.

Litigation & Notice Management:

a. Handling legal disputes/ lawsuits relating to Franchisees, vendors, or the regulatory authorities with the help of external counsels;

b. Preparation of appropriate legal communication, notices as per the need and requirement of the business.

c. Preparing necessary briefs for the external counsel and proactive coordination in evidence gathering for closing the litigations in the company's favor.

d. Attending the court hearings and timely follow up with the external counsels for early closures.

e. Execution of engagement letters and complete invoice management pertaining to external counsel.

f. Preparation of Litigation and Notice MIS.

License, regulatory, research, policy support:

a. Support to regional resources in procuring timely licenses for stores or other applicable trade zone or local authorities.

b. Preparation of replies and representations to authorities wherever required.

c. Preparation of replies to improvement notices from authorities.

d. Research on legal aspects and bye laws as and when required.

e. Execution of engagement letters and complete invoice management pertaining to external vendors responsible for procurement of licenses.

f. Support in formulating effective policies and guardrails to avoid risk to company and its Directors.

g. Any other job as may be provided by the management in the legal or the regulatory sphere.

h. Providing day to day support to all the functions on various queries pertaining to legal aspects and coordination with CLO on all the legal aspects for avoiding any risk to the organization.

EDUCATION: Degree in Law, LLB. Having CS degree will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):

1. 8 to 10 years of relevant working experience;

2. Knowledge of Applicable legislations in the region like Indian Contract Act, Civil Procedure Code, IPC, CrPC, FSA, labour codes, Competition Act and other general legislation applicable to a entity operating in product based companies
