Senior Manager - Legal - BFSI - LLB (5-7 yrs)
Company : A leading Business Conglomerate
Position : Sr. Manager - Legal
Location : Chennai
Qualification: Law degree from an accredited Indian University
Role Details :
- Compliance with various corporate laws,especially Companies Act 2013, SEBI, RBI
- To Advise and Co-ordinate for Legal and Corporate Due Diligence
- Standardization of documents - Drafting, vetting and customizing of the Agreements, Contracts and documents/forms as specified by the Institution as to ensure enforceability
- To research and advise on applicability of various business laws in India to Management / Others
- Review of the agreement and documents/forms as specified to ensure compliance with RBI regulations and Companies
- To initiate legal action for recovery of bad debts in all the products through Civil, DRT, Sarfaesi, Lok Adalat, 138 NI Act and criminal proceedings
- Negotiate out of court settlements with the borrowers and their counsels in high ticket/strategic Customers
- Coordinate with external lawyers for litigation matters
- Defending cases filed against the Company in High Court, Civil, Criminal, and consumer courts and before the Banking Ombudsman
- Sending of MIS Report relating to legal matters within the time frame to the management for their review
Skills and Advisory :
- 5 to 7 years Experience in Corporate, Business & Allied Laws. Candidates who had previously worked in any BFSI/NBFC will be given preference
- Have a solid understanding of contract law and related laws
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Have strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Have the ability to work within a larger team under pressure with strict timelines
- Excellent inter personal & communication skills
