Senior Manager - Inventory Management & Sourcing Strategy - Online/Internet (8-15 yrs)
My clients growth team is looking for a seasoned leader to take charge of inventory management & sourcing strategy. He/she would be responsible for identifying, creating, and driving innovative solutions and programs that lead to improvements in the way we manage our inventory from Forecasting, Buying, Network Placement, Removals, Sourcing and Capacity Planning and Management.
This highly visible role requires a candidate with the proven leadership ability to facilitate and guide the application of process improvements with impeccable quality levels in a broad organization.
Objectives and Responsibilities
The key strategic objectives and responsibilities for this role include:
- Maintain in-stock rates - Forecast demand and reorder for different business categories and verticals. Use business acumen to turn these predictions into credible forecasts. Own the science of explaining inventory outcomes, to provide business leaders with critical insight on whether we have the right amount of inventory and, if not, then why not
- Inventory placement - Come up with the best strategy for the movement of inventory from international and domestic sourcing hubs to multiple warehouses across India to ensure fastest delivery times to customers and reducing orders being split to multiple shipments.
- Adjudge best sourcing strategies - Work closely with the merchandising and pricing teams to strategically engage vendors to come up with sourcing strategies to give organisation better margins and vendors higher sell-through rates
- Managing and influencing multiple international stakeholders, including business, operations, finance, technical and analytical teams up to Senior Management level. Build long term vision for better inventory turns and customer experience.
