We have been retained by our client, a well-established, professionally managed General Insurance Company with international affiliations to identify a Senior Manager - Internal Audit to be based at Mumbai. Job Purpose : - To ensuring the organisation has appropriate and effective governance structures in place. - Implement, maintain and embed the Risk Management Strategy &amp; Framework in the organisation. - Promoting and reinforcing the organisation's proactive risk management culture. Key Responsibilities : - To report findings and recommendations in an internal audit report on a timely basis for improving the organization's operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance. - To follow-up audit findings and recommendations as per target completion date. - To escalate any significant concerns. - To co-ordinate and assist the audit activities organized by the external auditors, regulators etc. - To assist with filing, indexing of audit reports, recommendation trackers, action taken reports. - To assist in follow-up of audit issues, closure of audit reports. - To assist in review of Audit Manual / Audit Policy / other process documents. - Facilitating the identification of risks to the achievement of the organisational objectives i.e. driving top line, bottom line growth as part of leadership team. - Management of the Audit, Risk &amp; Control team, ensuring adequate resourcing levels are maintained to be both effective and efficient. - Promoting and driving the values and proactive risk management culture and to create superior workplace. - To evaluate, benchmark and improve the effectiveness of audit, control, risk management and governance processes. - To formulate and execute the approved risk-based annual audit plan - To conduct Head Office and Branch audits / reviews in order to assess compliance to laid out processes / company policies / regulatory guidelines and assess the effectiveness of the overall control environment. - To report findings and recommendations for improving the organization's operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance, in timely internal audit reports - To ensure all audit findings and recommendations are implemented on target completion date and to escalate any significant concerns. - To liaise and assist with the audit activities organized by the external auditors, local regulatory authorities etc. - To submit periodic reports to the Management and Audit Committee of the Board - To implement and review the Risk Management Strategy of the Company. - To facilitate and ensure appropriate management and staff participation in major risk management activities e.g. evaluating and monitoring the department and enterprise risk profiles. - To submit quarterly risk reports to executive management and the Risk Management Committee of the Board. - To implement and monitor a Fraud Risk Management Framework in the Company. - To monitor and facilitate the annual review of risk related policies of the company including Outsourcing Policy and the Business Continuity Policy. - Implementation of audit software to automate report issuance, audit issue tracking and monitoring. - Fulfilling expectations of stakeholders. - Critically evaluate the relevant business function system or transactions to identify key risks and controls and visualize and anticipate risk exposure in the changing environment and suggest controls to mitigate future risk. - Articulate complex issues and themes to senior management. Appropriately escalate significant risk and / or control issues and action points not closed within target dates by management - Suggest enhancement to systems and tools by identifying the need for them and evaluating options available in the market to improve the effectiveness and / or efficiency of processes.
