Lead and manage all the activities of the In-patient Department (IPD) manpower and physical resources to ensure smooth operations to meet the department's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor & report plan of care for admitted patient

- Monitor the planned patient discharge process through PRE's during daily patient round and to review planned and early patient discharge.

- Receive daily report on the unplanned discharge cases for monitoring and justification to improve the early discharge process and patient access of care.

- The implementation of approved clinical practice guidelines /protocols and Medical Care Plan according to NABH and JCI.

- The delivery of patient discharge and Follow-up instructions, Post-discharge care process and Wellness & Home care program Implementation.

- Monitor and report the Quality of Medical reports for admitted patient to prevent any financial loss due to approval or rejection.

To coordinate with the following services and ensure that delivery of care is effective:

- Medical service: Consultant doctors visit, availability of Doctors whenever necessary etc.

- Nursing service: Providing all the nursing care i.e. morning care, including administration of medicines and injections in time, special procedures etc

- Dietary service: Providing diet as per individual requirement in right time, temperature (based on Dietician advice)

- Housekeeping service: Cleanliness of all the rooms, toilets, changing of bed linens etc.

- Maintenance service: Proper functioning of AC, phone, calling bell, TV etc and servicing of the same in time.

- Laboratory service: Timely receipt of lab investigation reports and carrying out follow up for any pending investigations.

- Other supporting services: Admissions department to be informed about all the transfer in and out.

Skills Required: Good communication, leadership qualities, ability to solve problems and manage people.
