Senior Manager - Finance Shared Services - Project Accounting - Global - CA

Scope of Position:

Extensive knowledge in all aspects of EPC project accounting (including revenue recognition and client billings). Responsible for managing the Project Accounting process along with managing transition and transformation of the process; adherence to company policies and procedures; and, promoting a positive team environment. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment; applies knowledge of the commercial and technical drivers of the company and the industry to lead the team and shares expertise.

Position Objectives and Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for Project Accounting activities transitioned to the shared services function including cost booking/accrual and analysis, preparation of client billings, record intercompany entries, revenue recognition and project reporting and account reconciliations

- Responsible for project month close activities, ensuring that activities and project reports are completed as per the calendar timelines while maintaining quality and ensuring that team metrics/KPIs are met

- Required to handle a large team (30+ team members) being responsible for their functional and administrative deliverables and interacting with senior stakeholders for the purpose of driving P&L for the said projects

- Provide timely and effectively communicated responses to internal and external inquiries and support various internal and external special projects and audits relating to Project Accounting activities

- Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the Project Accounting function, in accordance with records retention policies and procedures

- Any other duties as assigned by the Director FSS

Profile and Core Competencies:

- Chartered Accountant with 15+ years of work experience

- Experience in working for a global organisation preferably with engineering companies in the oil & gas sector

- EPC experience or similar experience to long term construction contract accounting or percentage of completion method of accounting preferred.

- Strong analytical and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management

- Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems required

- Should have handled teams of 25+ team members being majorly responsible for hiring, productivity, attrition and performance management

- Strong understanding of technical accounting, SOX compliance, financial statement reporting/ close process

- Good knowledge of Hyperion (HFM, Planning) and Smartview would be an advantage

- Experience in driving process improvement/ process re-engineering in accounting functions

- Strong attention to accuracy and detail with excellent verbal and written communication and people management skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook etc.)
