Senior Manager - Finance - Mining Industry (8-12 yrs)

JOB DESCRIPTION (INDICATIVE ONLY) :

PURPOSE :

Senior Manager-Finance is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting, principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities and financial operations within the projects, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transact.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY:


1. Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the Operational Project.

2. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

3. Research and analyze financial reports and market trends

4. Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making

5. Review financial data, prepare monthly and annual reports and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

6. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.

7. Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.

8. Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes

9. Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the Project.

10. Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

11. Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.

12. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
