Responsibilities & Key Deliverables :

1. Responsible for harmonious Industrial ( Human) relations for the plant including IR & Long Term Settlements with Union.

2. Responsible for Disciplinary actions & Grievance Redressal

3. Responsible for Statutory Compliance, Legal & Contract Labour Management

4. Responsible for Plant Safety and security.

5. Responsible for Plant administration & Transport.

6. Responsible for creating manpower plan keeping in view the right ratio mix and cost of structure in line with long term organizational plan

7. Responsible for Educating workmen on advanced technology, change in the process for better productivity and safe practices.

8. Develop and execute strategies to create a transformative work culture which espouses team work, continual improvement and first time right, every-thing right focus.

9. To design and roll out Employee Engagement initiatives in the Plants to create a Great Place to Work environment.

10. To craft and execute a well-defined capability/ skill building plan for blue collared which helps achieve organizational goals in the areas of PQCDSM.

11. Build effective leadership in the Union members and the informal leadership in the blue collared to ensure fair, healthy and harmonious negotiations during LTS and otherwise.

12. Assess risks of IR decisions accurately, build strong external/ internal relationships (with government, union agencies, communities and political opinion-makers), to proactively read the labor related external/ internal trends and act accordingly.

13. Constantly evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of current CSR systems/ Communication processes, improve them continuously and leverage on best practices.

14. Approach internal and external stakeholders with a service and partnering mindset and display a high degree of ownership to all the services provided.

15. Promote a culture of openness to feedback, responsiveness, employee care and empathy wherein every stakeholder complaint is studied and addressed

16. Empower, motivate, coach and build capability in the team members to effectively perform their roles

Skills & Competencies :

- Updated on relevant Labour Laws & State laws

- Should be well informed up-to-date on changes to labour laws, arbitration decisions, court judgements and anything else that may affect union-management relations.

- Is able to take proactive initiatives to create healthy work culture, high level of engagement and pride at work place

- Excellent Communication & Negotiations skills

- Good Team player & Leadership qualities

- Ability to transact with management and union keeping in mind the interests of both the parties, so as to arrive at a win-win situation

- Result & Achievement Orientation

- Tactful yet Ethical. Problem-solving skills

- Should be able to network with people both inside & outside who are potential sources of information to capture pulse of people and advise management for appropriate and timely action

- Liasoning Skills

- Should be able to build partnership with different agencies (local industry, labour authorities, local government bodies, vendors and other business partners) to protect image of the organization
