Senior Manager - Compliance & Legal - Law Firm- Bangalore Candidates only - Good academic records with a law degree from a top Indian or international law school; - Minimum of 7 - 9 years post-qualification legal experience in a well-regarded Indian law firm or in-house position with a major multi-national company with a focus on compliance; - Outstanding analytical, writing and oral communication skills; - Proven project management experience, strong drafting and problem-solving skills, excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure while producing a high volume of accurate work; - Constructive approach to dealing with conflict, and ability to influence and achieve successful results without damaging relationships; - Ability to work independently and take ownership of, and effectively resolve, problems; - Strong interpersonal and consultative skills; ability to interact effectively and work diplomatically with individuals at all levels; - Ability to think strategically and provide leadership when needed; - Ability to expeditiously identify and assess issues and provide legally sound recommendations consistent with good business practices and reason; - Ability to assess and balance risks and understand the commercial drivers of different projects; Primary responsibilities of this attorney will include: - Advising senior management on workplace statutory compliances, such as POSH committees and CLRA compliance, as well as HR legal compliance audits; - Providing legal trainings relevant to their areas to Leadership and Executive Committee; - Partnership with HR to carry out workplace investigations, internal grievance procedures, and domestic inquiries, and disciplinary actions; - Work with Managing Directors for different client needs and play the role of legal advisory. - Reviewing contracts and amendments for clients and service providers to comply with standard contract templates and corporate policy. Supporting in the review, negotiation and drafting of non-standard contracts - Developing and/or reviewing appropriate contracts related to employees. Assisting with employment law compliances, including legal work with respect to employee documents, policies, Shops and Establishments Acts compliances, review of compensation and benefit programs and plans, etc. - Working internally with counterparts in various location(s), including risk oversight or centralized services, such as Ethics and Compliance, Risk, Audit, Security, Procurement, Finance, and Tax to ensure appropriate delivery for all business units - Identifying, analyzing and tracking regulatory compliances and amendments, working closely with market intermediaries and institutions to track changes in compliance requirements
