Senior Manager - Capital Planning - Metal & Mining Business

We have been mandated by a large Global conglomerate into Metal and Mining business for the position of Sr Manager - Capital Planning.

Reports to : Head, Capital Planning

Qualification : CA or BE/ M Tech in Engineering + MBA

Experience : 4-6 years

Purpose of the Job

To analyze and make a thorough evaluation of the business case of all minor and major capital projects including assisting in formulation of 5 year CEP in order to enable higher management to take investment decisions and effectively manage the Capital allocation process in the company.

Job responsibilities

- Assist the senior management in capital allocation by facilitating the working of Peer Review Group and Capital Expenditure Committee.

- All capital evaluation to follow Capital Governance Framework and accordingly, assist in working of 3- tier governance structure (from organizing the meetings, to evaluation of proposals, preparation of minutes and communication of the approvals to respective stakeholders, monitoring & release of budget)

- Handling all capital projects related queries

Preparation of CEP

- Assist in formulation of Long term Capital Expenditure Plan

- Coordinating and compiling the report to the Management/ Board on the status of the major ongoing projects.

- Undertake a due- diligence and validation of the business case for capital projects (project essentiality, compliance, risks, financials, timelines etc).

- Guide the Project owner in preparation of the business case

- Due-diligence and validation of major capital projects as per Capital Governance Framework and Oversight process.

- Develop review dash board for the company

- Prepare monthly reports for Sr Management and quarterly for the Board on the status of capital spend vs plan and progress status of ongoing projects.

Financial evaluation of the Greenfield & Brown field Project and development of the business case.

- Provide inputs and assist in preparing financial model for all greenfield and brownfield major capital projects and

- Detailed evaluation of financial model including vetting of underlying financial model.

- Assist the team in identifying the areas of synergies and ensure effective interface with various stakeholders to ensure all options are analysed for higher capital efficiency.
