Role : Sr Manager - Business Continuity Planning (BCP) - IT/ITeS/BPO /KPO


Location : Mumbai ( Thane)

About the Role:

- As Business continuity specialist, you will be responsible for keeping the Organization safe from unforeseen interruptions.

- You will work to oversee the Business Continuity Planning of the Organization and its execution.

- It will be your role to lead and/or assist on the identification of foreseeable interruptions to the Organization and keeping pace with rapid technological change and the continuous evolution of deterrent methods which ensures business is ever ready to work with alternatives.

- You will assist on advising the Organization on strategies for operational resilience and assuring their effective execution.

Manage Overall Business continuity planning and improve governance, adherence to policy and education in relation to business continuity

- Involve in development of BCP and lead efforts for disaster damage assessment.

- Develop, deliver, and maintain BCP framework.

- Coordinate detailed operational activities as per disaster scenarios.

- Create and deliver business continuity and disaster recovery training to the businesses.

- Provide regular reports to the senior management on BCP threats and defensive steps taken.

Manage Business Impact Assessment

- Lead the Business Impact Analysis process to identify how quickly essential business units and/or processes must return to full operation following a disaster situation.

- Coordinate with the functional heads to

(i) Estimate the financial impacts for each business unit, assuming a worst-case scenario

(ii) Estimate the intangible (operational) impacts for each business unit, assuming a worst-case scenario


(iii) Identify the organization s business unit processes and the estimated recovery time and recovery point framework

(iv) Identify and assess critical systems/applications and services being outsourced and estimate recovery time and point framework for the same.

Manage Business Continuity Plan for the Organization

- Update the Business Continuity Plan on the basis of BIA assessment and maintain BCP in accordance with regulatory standards.

- Coordinate the review, maintenance and testing of Business Continuity Plans and ensure these plans remain valid and fit for purpose by working with all functional areas and Second Line.

- Activate Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for affected departments. Develop recovery strategies and communicate those strategies with BCP group.

- Lead the BCP Coordination calls to provide status update on BCP testing schedule, testing results and lesson learnt from the testing activities. Provide the Management Information (MI) reporting detailing the status of all Business Continuity Plans.

- Manage the emergency communications system used by Organisation and ensure that all staff are appropriately covered by this system. Update policies, procedures and BCP Plan/framework on periodic basis.

Operational Resilience:

Lead and manage the Operational Resilience program periodically to:

(i) identify critical/important business services

(ii) Set Impact Tolerance for critical/important business services

(iii) End-to-end business service mapping and

(iv) Current state nd testing.

- Periodically update the operational resilience thresholds based on the changes to the macroeconomic environment and business condition.

- Align with second line for changes to any thresholds to ensure the thresholds are valid and fit for purpose.

- Develop testing scenarios and connect scenario analysis to wider business stress testing.

- Establish improvement plans and manage regular test schedule.

Qualification / Work Experience & Skills:

- Post-Graduate / Graduate with 6 to 10 Yrs of experience of which last 4yrs into BCP

- Should have experience in implementing & managing BCP for a BPO / Back Office Setup

- Willing to Work in UK / US Shifts

- Knowledge: in-depth knowledge of business continuity risk and its frameworks and tools

- Analytical skills: analyses complex technical issues and distils them, and delivers clear recommendations which are understandable and credible for the management

- Teamwork: reaches out to and cooperates with the first line to establish an overall collaborative relationship

- Communication: speaks and writes clearly and articulately without being overly verbose or talkative. Maintains this standard in all forms of written communications, including email.
