Senior Manager - Business Analytics - Core Insights - FMCG (8-10 yrs)

1. Main Purpose

In a few sentences, describe the main objective, purpose and scope of the role.

Execute Deep-dive Analysis responsibilities (of the Insights Services Hub) as part of the broader Global Transformational agenda for Global Category Teams

Accelerate business growth by contributing to the sub-team within the Hub responsible for creating/updating dashboards, delivering periodic and on-demand performance reviews, and addressing ad-hoc requests based on internal and external data sources. These individuals will have short-term responsible for knowledge transfer from the business and flawless delivery of recurring reports. Once established, they will execute optimization of the content and processes, including ad hoc questions and overall automation of delivery.

2. Accountabilities

Functional Responsibilities:

Execute delivery of reporting/analysis activities Global Category Teams:

- Liaise and align with business partners to setup and execute ongoing business intelligence reportings, analytics, including macro trends, category/competitor movements, and brand performance (utilizing dashboards, templated decks, and reporting tools)

- Leverage business performance explanations from teams around the world to incorporate considerations beyond data into reporting

- Provide preliminary commentary to explain business performance, drivers, and optimization opportunities

- Monitor key channel, customer, competitor and emerging player performance and execute reporting at required intervals

- Provide responses to ad-hoc follow-ups when double-click required with tables/charts/stories using relevant data

- Support processes/formating for output adherence and delivery to agreed scope - in line with the agreed timelines, aligned templates and content management

- Responsible for individual optimal utilization of time

- Monitor and act upon regular feedback inputs from deliverables end-users and Business Partners

- Flag and monitor any business risks related to delivering the operational output (facilities, IT resources, recruitment efforts)

Process management & Data Governance:

- Support communication processes with Reporting vertical leaders and Business Partners (project planning, workflow monitoring, quality checks, on-going changes)

- Help Reporting vertical leadership develop and finetune internal COE processes (work-flow mapping, pain-points and bottlenecks management) both related to service delivery and internal center operations

- Improve existing processes based on frequent end-user and Business Partner feedback loop

- Build and manage long term partnerships with best in class external vendors who provide superior quality of deliverables/data to support business intelligence needs and ensure contingency/action plans when dissatisfactory results arise

- Establish safe guards and automate data quality checks, e.g., regular trend-watch of data streams to identify and address potential trend breaks.

- Leverage global/regional synchronization efforts (PEPView, PPD) to drive further streamlining and unification of data sets for future digitalization work;

- Evaluate and integrate data suppliers beyond the scope of current global/regional efforts to increase scale of underdeveloped disaggregated data sources (examples: local loyalty card data, demographics, local POS materials);

SSC strategy delivery:

- Support efforts to establish Reporting/Analysis sub-team within SCC as a delivery point of contact for all regular reporting/analysis needs for Business Partners (Respective Global Category Groups)

- Support simplification, standardization and digitalization efforts (in cooperation with global and GBS stakeholders)

3. Key Skills/Experience Required

Identify any differentiating expertise required for success in the role.

- A mid-level Insight or Analytics professional with experience in a leading consumer goods company. With atleast 9 years+ experience

Education: Masters in Marketing or management, economics, sociology, math, statistics

- Experience with Syndicated and Primary research with extensive knowledge in RMS

- Potential to develop leadership and influencing profile in line with Insights Leader of the future definition: Motivates action through fact-based, inspirational material; Has a track record of identifying and championing new processes for improving fact-based decision making. Can synthesize multiple, disparate data sources into compelling growth strategies. Formulates a strong POV and can articulate future scenarios; Is an exceptional story-teller.

- Strong collaborator: Interested and motivated by working with others. Actively creates and participates in opportunities to co-create solutions across markets; will be willing and able to embrace Responsive Ways of Working

- Knowing the Business Cold: Can easily see how insights/research learning can improve businesses impact and frames up reporting efforts and opportunities to inform business decisions

- Proven analytics, shopper research experience, consumer insights experience or commercial experience in a combination with strong analytical skills

- High degree of familiarity with CPG and Food & Beverage industry data sources, including Nielsen/IRi (POS and HH panel), GlobalData, Kantar Worldpanel, etc.

- Deep understanding of CPG industry business performance outputs and causal measures, their relationships, and how to bring business performance insights to life visually

- Experience with Agile development methods, Tableau, Business Objects, D3 open source visualization, SQL, R and SPSS desired

- Managerial experience: nice to have

- Operational experience from business servicing sector and/or consulting experience would be a plus

- Fluent English - obligatory
