SR. MANAGER / AGM - LOGISTICS - PAPER / CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING
At present we are having an opening for SR. MANAGER / AGM - LOGISTICS for a reputed company into paper and chemicals based out of their AMLAI MANUFACTURING PLANT IN MADHYA PRADESH
- Estimate and review periodically transportation and freight costs for achieving competitive rates for engaging transport and logistics agencies at minimal costs.
- Evolve logistics plan, monitor and oversee the process of logistics/supply chain.
- Coordinate and collaborate intimately with stakeholders like sales and operations, commercial department and logistics service providers.
- The job incumbent may also take responsibility for the warehouse.
Responsibilities :
- Strategy & Development : Contribute to the creation of logistics strategy and implementation of best practices, logistics vision, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance at competitive costs.
- General & Task Management : Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations while liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics service providers, transportation companies and customers.
- Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organization to improve overall operational and financial performance.
- Deliver cost effective solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and timely service within budgetary requirements.
- Monitor quality and quantity, strictly adhere to delivery times, and minimize transport costs
- Estimate transportation costs and negotiate rates for contracts with transportation and logistics service providers.
- Recommend and engage optimal transport modes, routes or frequency.
- Develop and build up vendors/carriers/transport suppliers base and evaluate their performance criteria periodically to weed out poor performers.
- Ensure carrier compliance with statutory and company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
- Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others
- Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities
- Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports
- Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement.
- Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock
- Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process
- Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements
- Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained, and accurate
- Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available
- Relationship Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected stakeholders with the logistics process .
- Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time bound manners in accordance with delivery schedule to customers.
- Ensure products are shipped appropriately with adequate safety on transit to ensure quality of goods during transportation
- Take control of packaging and provide appropriate, cost-effective, high-quality solutions
- Take responsibility for accuracy of labelling to ensure correct parts/finished assemblies reach correct customers at the correct time
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements
