Senior Manager - Actuarial - Life Insurance (6-7 yrs)
Our Clients are a well-established Life Insurance Company. They are a joint venture between diversified financial services conglomerate in India and one of the oldest life insurance companies in the world. Headquartered at Mumbai.
Role : Sr Manager-Actuarial.
Role and responsibilities:
- Support the modeling team in the development and maintenance of Prophet and related modelling tools.
- Guide junior members of the modelling team with conception, planning and implementation of a model, for a new product or for enhancements.
- Working on designing, modeling etc of IFRS in Prophet.
- Ensure adequate Testing and Reviewing of changes are done before the model is released for the user teams. - Ensure all Modelling Governance principles are adhered to.
- Help with the development and implementation of IFRS 17 by preparing various Accounting and Reporting templates as per the requirements.
- Enhance IFRS 17 understanding and capabilities both within the actuarial team and other stakeholders.
- Liaising with Finance & Accounts and other relevant teams to help develop associated processes required for the financial reports and the collection and generation of required data.
- Forecast, validate and interpret new IFRS 17 metrics by performing various exercises.
- Sound accounting and financial concepts to interpret the implications of various approaches and applicability of the same to the business.
- Steer strategic projects, including statistical in nature, to do with Business Intelligence, Sales, Corporate Planning etc.
Experience :
- At least 6 to 7 years- experience in Life Insurance, with modelling and reporting experience.
- Experience (either current or past) in Life Insurance is mandatory.
Education Qualification :
- Graduate who has completed CT papers and has shown progress in the Application/Specialist papers.
Functional Skills:
- Knowledge of reserving, EV, accounting framework.
- Knowledge of PROPHET, DCS and other software's such as R.
- Expert knowledge of insurance products and good understanding of cash flows, accounting concepts and regulations.
-Updated knowledge on regulations and head start with IFRS 17 requirements.
- Working knowledge of the systems and processes.
Soft Skills :
- Proficient in English and with Good Communication Skills.
- Capability to manage multiple stakeholders and multiple projects.
- Strong execution and time management skills.
