Key Purpose &amp; Responsibilities 1. Drafting of contracts - Agency business support: Contracts pertaining to client services for advertising, Marketing, Digital Marketing, IT, and likewise; - drafting and negotiating low to medium complexity contracts for the foregoing aspects of the agency business by providing legal inputs and rendering services through the contractual process. 2. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations; 3. Trade Marks and Copyrights: To support the in-house registration process of trademarks of the group companies 4. Miscellaneous: To draft contracts on as required basis for miscellaneous transactions of the company. - Engaging, learning and winning the confidence for handling low to medium complexity contracts. - To provide contracting and legal support for new initiatives and special projects of the company - To minimize risk and proactively protecting the company's interest and assets - Support existing processes to manage the Intellectual property rights of the company in various databases - To provide litigation support and to manage outside counsel optimally in a focused, efficient and effective manner. - Has day to day responsibility for drafting accurate contracts, negotiating them with third parties on his/her own and concluding them in tight deadlines. - Providing accurate, effective and timely legal advice, analysis and support on commercial and contractual matters taking into account the commercial environment - Drafts and negotiates any relevant agreements and any other relevant legal documents relating to commercial and contractual matters. - To act as the day to day interface between the company and external counsel, briefing external counsels and attending hearings in the courts and other regulatory forums and government departments - Co-ordinates with intra departments of the company in respect of commercial and contractual matters where appropriate to ensure that all relevant legal issues are identified and appropriate support is provided - Understand tax and regulatory structure of the company and be able to safeguard the company from exposure in the contracts. - Assists in the development of best practice with regards to the legal aspects of commercial and contractual matters entrusted - Influences and assists in discussions between clients and other functions to ensure the best legal solution to meet commercial objectives and to encourage best practices - Provides regular reports and updates to line manager and to internal stakeholders, as appropriate Key Challenges in the role: Advertising Media and Entertainment Industry is now being regulated with various legislations governing almost every aspect of it which makes doing business and compliance a real challenge. An incumbent should be able to keep himself/herself updated with new developments relating to the function and apply them to mitigate risk and exposure for the company. The incumbent is expected to grasp the key provisions and apply them effectively in each endeavor he/she undertakes in this position. It is expected that the incumbent will have high energy levels to absorb as much as possible the daily learning in the legal fields governing advertising, media &amp; entertainment, positively respond to stress levels which are common to legal profession, and have an attitude and confidence (including command over spoken and written English) that compliments his/her legal work. Qualifications/ Requirements: ONLY MALE REQUIRED - Diplomas in legal vocations/subjects like advertising laws, Media and Entertainment, Intellectual Property Rights etc. shall be given weightage but are not must. - The credentials of law school/university from which Incumbent has done LL.B. will be considered. - A stint in Media &amp; Entertainment or Information Technology industry shall be an added advantage. - Incumbent must have excellent command over spoken and written English. - Incumbent must be self-driven and motivated to take initiatives - Incumbent must be able to demonstrate the ability to handle pressure situations with alacrity. - Incumbent must have multitasking ability.
