Job Description :
- This is a senior leadership position for CRMS (Credit Risk Management Services) South Asia Credit Risk Reporting Operations with overall responsibility for delivery and governance of regulatory reports with a front to back management of the processes, controls and the regulations surrounding credit risk.
- This role reports to the South Asia CRMS Head and is based in our Mumbai office with extended governance for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the preparation of periodic reports & ad-hoc regulatory requirements and implement iterative\strategic improvements to the process vide continual improvement model
- Build governance around CRMS South Asia Reporting activities and deliver against the committed SLAs [Sample reports : CRILC, CIBIL, SMA, LEF, RLC, NESL, SIBC, RBS, etc.]
- Build a strong reporting framework with adequate documentation and right sustainable model for fostering risk and controls
- Responsible for robust control monitoring assessment as a part of Manager Control assessment framework, including key regulatory requirements
- Manage and direct individuals through relevant direct reporting: Responsibilities include productivity tracking, back up planning, training, SLA adherence, proactive communication, hygiene aspects management, recruitment, goal setting, performance evaluation. etc.
- Drive process migrations, report automations, technology enhancements and ensure implementation of the standard operational model
- Handling de risking initiatives & standardization of BAU processes across geographies
- Allow for right placement of allied activities and creation of right target operating model
- Lead management projects on outsourcing, migration & digitization
- Developing and implementing a process to ensure the accuracy of submissions by coordinating an overall review process, working with the Responsible Business and other control functions
- Responsible for timely identification and escalation of control issues and drive opportunities to improve controls to build a standard and simplified best in class control environment
- Communicate and enforce standard policies, requirements, procedures, and controls within the regulatory reporting team
- Interface with Concurrent Audit, Internal Audit (IA) and external audit, as needed
- Identify best practices for reporting and implement the same across allied processes
- Aid the CRMS South Asia lead to drive key initiatives
- Ensuring compliance of hygiene checks (Trainings/EERS/Mandatory absence) for management reporting of CRMS South Asia
- Manage Corrective Action Plans by instituting a strategic remediation plan
- Maintain cadence with senior stakeholders and apprise them of the ongoings
The ideal candidate for this position preferably possesses the following qualifications and skills :
- 15+ years of relevant experience in banking with specialization in Risk regulatory reporting
- Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
- In-Depth knowledge of Risk circulars
- Previous experience in interacting with regulators
- Team management experience
- Ability to handle complexity & work across functional areas
- Highly motivated with advanced analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train the trainer in Risk subjects as well as softer aspects of management
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
