Senior Leadership Role - US Payroll
Responsibilities of this role would include (but not limited to):
- Initiates process and system changes and enhancements; works with the payroll operations team and other cross-functional business partners to prioritize process and system improvement initiatives impacting the global payroll process, including planning and managing the overall roadmap
- Lead the US and international payroll transformation efforts, including selection and seamless transitions to chosen payroll platforms
- Build and maintain a relationship with key stakeholders both within Finance and related business units, and continuously optimize the service delivery and leadership model
- Drive improvements and establish best-in-class processes for global payroll and related programs which meet jurisdictional compliance requirements, and delivers outstanding employee support
- Communicate the priorities, partner requirements and sequential steps in operationalizing the Global payroll transformation roadmap and ensuring alignment across the organization
- Continuously partner with HR, Benefits, Finance and other related organizations to ensure that the end to end payroll input and output processes are optimized
- Provide leadership and guidance to the global payroll operations team, including quality control, with a focus on continuous improvement to standardize and simplify our processes
- Lead discussions with Finance leadership regarding overall global payroll strategy to align on operationalizing the global payroll transformation plan
- Partner with Human Resources on systems and process changes, master data integrity/verification, data privacy initiatives/compliance and transactional data requirements
- Develop, implement and review KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Prepare regular reports, oversee team's productivity and quality metrics for optimal operational efficiency
- Evaluate the skill requirements of each team member, and obtain the necessary training materials to maintain a high quality of service
- Monitor and report Payroll performance to key stakeholders and work with Finance leadership to develop and drive strategy to meet the organizations strategic objectives
- Ensure the organization is future-ready and adaptable to a dynamically changing environment with interventions like RPA, AI, Digital Automation etc.
- Set, manage and achieve realistic targets and goals including those related to finance performance and quality
- Cultivate environment of trust, teamwork, self-confidence and ownership on all the activities handled
- Forecast and plan staff requirements and manage long-term investments (including development of investment cases and allocation of funding) for HR Data to Payroll
- Help to define risk controls and audit, documentation (e.g., service catalogue, escalation procedures, management of third-party resources), and compliance requirements
SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Expertise in the end-to-end global payroll process and high level of understanding of general business operations and internal control concepts
- Ability to think strategically and also act operationally; ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies
- Team player, flexible, and ability to resolve conflicts
- Experience working with a geographically dispersed team
- Familiarity with business practices and cultures across multiple international regions
- Strong experience in identifying US and global payroll optimization opportunities and driving the subsequent implementation of related projects.
- Demonstration of successful interaction with cross-functional business partners
- Experience with managing under Service Level Agreement (SLA), Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance metrics and monitoring for in scope activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Senior presence and ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with office leaders
- Operationally seasoned with good exposure to Agile, Process Engineering, Lean methodologies and Process Automation/RPA in Finance
- Extensive knowledge of outsourcing processes and best practices
- Excellent problem solving, analytic, and project management skills
- Non-hierarchical with an - inclusive approach and a high tolerance for ambiguity
