Senior Lead - Finance & Accounts (Costing & Budgeting) | Global Paper Manufacturing firm

Our client is a paper manufacturing firm with its HO in Gurgaon. Established 4 decades and produces paper & paper products. Its distribution network of 100+ dealers has a reach not only over the length and breadth of India but across the globe with a focus on demand markets and exporting their products to the SAARC countries, Africa and the Middle East. It is the largest paper mill production house of its kind and is among the top ten in paper production in India. It believes that the workspace plays a very major role in the productivity of an employee, therefore, the campus has a unique state-of-the-art infrastructure well equipped with the latest technology and sprawling over 100 acres.

As the Sr.Lead - F & A (Costing & Budgeting), you will drive Costing functions in the organization in accordance with statutory requirements, corporate policies, procedures & industry benchmarks to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted flow of business operations.

What you will do:

1. Financial Controls:

- Ensuring adherence to the budget, undertaking an analysis of any deviations and suggesting corrective action

- Driving cost savings in the organization as per targets defined

2. Process Excellence:

- Developing a robust costing and budgeting framework covering all functions, after benchmarking with industry best practices

- Analyzing manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs

- Conducting periodic cost benefit analysis to check product profitability

- Developing component costing techniques and institute cost control measures with inputs from Head Commercial.

- Driving SAP Modules such as COPA, PP, BPC, and CO

- Providing break-even analysis for new components as and when required by the Management

- Analyzing changes in component design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, to determine effects on cost and advise top management accordingly

- Overseeing cost accounting of inventory and WIP to ensure compliance with defined controls

- Driving the development, maintenance and implementation of all cost accounting policies & procedures in compliance with the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) by ICWAI

- Establishing effective and robust cost accounting systems so as to provide timely, accurate and consistent inputs for management reporting

- Finalizing templates for project costing and liaise with department heads to periodically review effort-cost and activity complexity-cost associations; communicating the rationale for project costing to concerned Heads of Departments

- Liaising with relevant members of the Marketing teams to review project contracts and finalizing project costs and ensure that minimum profitability levels are ensured

- Liaising with Plant Head, Head - Sales, Marketing & WP Procurement & Head IT for BOM updation for new & existing products

- Liaising with Plant Head for evaluating cost impact of capital investment proposals at the plant

- Driving preparation of costing MIS, contribution analysis report & annual cost audit report

- Assisting the purchasing department in negotiations with vendors/suppliers on a need basis

- Ensuring adherence to targets for trading & demand of waste paper

- Ensuring adherence to cost guidelines for the purchase of waste paper

3. People:

- Ensuring timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members

- Building a robust costing team by taking an active role in the recruitment of team members

- Fostering an environment of learning, excellence, and innovation within all aspects of teamwork

- Ensuring capability development of self and team members by actively participating and leveraging training & growth opportunities available including knowledge management initiatives

Candidate Profile:

What you need to have:

- Desired Qualifications: Cost Accountant or MBA Finance or ICWA

- Desired Experience: Min. 8 years of costing experience in an engineering or manufacturing industry

- Team leadership and team working

- Energetic and passionate professional with the ability to set up processes and systems

- Results orientation and problem-solving mindset

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrates a high level of personal and intellectual integrity
