Senior/Group Manager - Purchase - Auto (17-19 yrs)
Job Title : Group Manager - Purchase
Level : G
Reports to : Head Commercial
Location : Baroda
Major Responsibilities :
- To monitor availability of all consumables, spares, bulk items, indirect RM and project items in time at a competitive price and acceptable quality.
- Ensure finalisation of long-term rate contracts / AMC for all regular consumables and services.
- Ensure compliance of legal, statutory and safety requirements related to procured goods & services.
- Ensure optimum stock level of auto procurement items.
- Ensure proper EMS functioning.
- Alternate vendor Development.
- Alternate item development.
- Vendor Audit.
- Take corrective & preventive actions on audit points.
- Ensure inventory control mechanism.
- Import & OE substitution.
Principal Accountabilities for procurement :
- Monitor Planning of Indirect Raw Material & critical engg items.
- Manage logistics issues related to timely delivery.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Monitor pending indents and pending deliveries.
- Conduct final evaluation of high value quotes. & commercial bids.
- Certify specifications of new stock codes.
- Manage crises situations & stock outs.
- Oversee imports.
Principal Accountabilities for Cost reduction :
- Establish & identify the areas for improvement in terms of cost, quality and services.
- Alternate source ( ~ Vendor ) development.
- Improve ARC & Banking system.
- Variety reduction
- Increase of inventory turnover ratio
- Reduction of advance with vendor and reconciliation with finance
- Monitoring SIP- Small Improvement Projects - Example - minimize delay in custom clearance so as to reduce demurrages. Lead time reduction, Improve logistics for faster delivery.
Principal Accountabilities for TS-16949 :
- Ensure TS 16949 compliance.
- Ensure Internal Review of documentation.
- Support to buyers for maintaining records as per TS-16949 standards.
Principal Accountabilities for People Development :
- Set, Review & Monitor Performance of subordinates.
- Identify Job enrichment opportunities with in function.
- Nominate team members for external training.
- Feedback and corrective action
Main Purpose of Job :
Monitoring Procurement of various items & services for plant & project requirements with the attribute of time, cost & quality at the same time ensure the implementation of different measures taken for inventory control.
