We have urgent opening with our client for Sr. GM (Public Affairs) role.

Job Description :

The Agriculture being a state subject, this position has have the following responsibilities and tasks to perform:

Build relationships and with state Government officials at different levels, regular interactions and working together with legislative committees, and government agencies, to advocate and develop support for Client interests. Also continue to interact with local authorities for any regulatory or compliance relates issues for smooth functioning of our facilities and units in India

Interaction with Senior bureaucrats, like such as the District Collector; Divisional Commissioner; Police Commissioner; Labor Commissioner; Sales Tax Commissioner; SP (Rural).

- The position would also need to develop relationships at a junior level, such as SHO (station officer) near our facilities, Engineers/ Superintendents at Irrigation Department, Power Department regional offices of pollution control boards and environment.

- Selective interaction with the Guardian Secretary, Principal Secretary (Industry), Principal Secretary (Environment); Principal Secretary (Finance), Principal Secretary (Agriculture) at the state levels.

- Coordinates with local, state and national trade associations, business coalition and other groups to develop support for Client. The position would be the key person engaged with local chambers of commerce at state and region level - CII, MCCIA, AMCHAM, IGCC, ASSOCHAM

- This position shall also engaged in government sales along with sales and marketing teams by providing leads and connectivity and engage the industry partners as identified by the management for PPP (public private partnership) or CHC (custom hiring centres) business opportunities

- The position will be responsible for working with JDF teams for connectivity with state government for business expansion and also participation in state schemes and ensuring we abide and comply by the local state laws like money lending.

- The position would be responsible for scouting around prominent events that occur at state / regional levels that support and enhance company's visibility through selective participation in such events.

Description of the major duties performed in this job :

- Works jointly with Client's business unit integrators and business unit management to quantify unit objectives, and determine how public policy may impact them.

- Monitors legislative and regulatory developments and identifies specific initiatives that pose opportunities or threats to company interests.

- Alerts Corporate and Business Unit management of pending legislative and regulatory initiatives, and develops strategies and action plans, in concert with business units, for affecting changes in public policy in a manner that will improve the Company's financial position.

- Builds and maintains relationships and interacts with public officials, legislative committees, and government agencies, to advocate and develop support for the company interests.

- Coordinates with trade associations, business coalitions and other groups to develop support for company positions.

- Identifies and implements opportunities for the Company to pursue political objectives (i.e., political action committees, plant tours, etc.)

- Knowledge and understanding of public policy and political developments related to the Company's operations. - Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.

- Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.

Relevant Work Experiences :

Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line.

Experience in public affairs - 4 - 7 years

- Political experience with trade association, corporate office, legislative or regulatory office, and/or involvement with public policy development on behalf of business interests. - 1 - 3 years

- Project management experience including plan development, budget management, team management, requirements gathering, delivery and deployment - 1 - 3 years
