The AVP of Finance & Accounts is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. This role involves strategic financial planning, managing accounting practices, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing leadership to the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
o Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability.
o Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
2. Accounting Management:
o Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
o Manage the preparation of financial statements.
o Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
o Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
o Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors.
4. Leadership and Team Management:
o Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
o Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
5. Cost Management:
o Analyze and manage costs to improve profitability.
o Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
6. Taxation & Insurance:
o Oversee the tax function within the organization
o Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liability and optimize financial opportunities
o Collaborate with senior management to align tax strategies with business goals
o Manage tax planning, reporting, and forecasting activities
o Overseeing the Insurance activities
7. Stakeholder Communication:
o Communicate financial performance and strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
o Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
8. Efficiency & Productivity:
o Need to be tech - savvy, to leverage tools like accounting software, Automation, and data analytics to improve efficiency and productivity.
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Chartered Accountant.
Experience:
Atleast 16 - 22 years of experience, out of which minimum 4 - 5 years in leadership position, preferably from Manufacturing industry.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and leadership abilities, proficiency in financial software and SAP Systems
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share ideas an instructions with the team.
- Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying issues and developing effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Adaptability: Being flexible and able to adjust to new technologies, processes, and changes in the business environment
