Senior Financial Accountant - Pharma - CA (5-8 yrs)

We are looking for potential candidates from , ideally pharmaceutical/healthcare experience.

The client is a top Pharma company based in Europe.

Qualifications:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Key Primary Responsibilities

- Managing all aspects related to the financial statements for the group including preparation of month end reports, reconciliations, and classifications of accounts

- Manage the day to day duties of the Financial Accountant reporting to the role ensuring their annual performance objectives are achieved

- Assisting with the closure of the month end ledgers on the ERP system

- Responsible for all trading and statutory entities

- Enforce the finance policies and procedures including but not limited to

- Account creation (GL Chart of Accounts)

- Account reconciliation

- Account classification

- Presentation and disclosure of transactions

- Classification of drawings/business balances

- Dealing with audit queries

- Ensuring a robust system of internal controls operates over all transactions

- Ensuring a comprehensive month end file is prepared and reviewed to support all balances held at the reporting date including detailed schedules for accruals, provisions, and prepayments

- Ensuring overheads are accounted for in line with policies and procedures and allocated on a fair and justifiable basis

- Ensuring a full matrix is maintained of intercompany balances, ensuring intercompany balances are agreed, confirmed, and reconciled monthly

- Responsible for the submission of monthly VAT returns across all jurisdictions

- Responsible for the submission of CSO and Regulatory authority returns Preparing monthly/annual payroll reconciliations across the group

- Coordinating with other finance functions ensure all transactions and balance sheet balances are appropriately supported, in line with accounting standards and group policies

- Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are appropriately reconciled on a timely basis and that these reconciliations are appropriately reviewed

- Providing input on the company forecast and on the annual budget processes

- Reporting monthly on anomalies and specific aspects that need to be brought to the attention of management

- Constantly highlighting areas for improvement and leading initiatives to deliver those improvements

- Making recommendations to management on the correct accounting treatment for transactions

- Ensuring Revenue/HMRC compliance of transactions to minimise the risk of audits and exposure to fines/penalties

- Working cross functionally to deliver streamlining initiatives for the finance function

- Adhoc analysis and tasks as required by Management

- Ensure there is no manual circumvention of controls, that the Delegation of Authority is followed and that any instances of non-compliance are investigated, and loopholes closed off

- Provide training and constant feedback to other business users as to the correct procedures to be followed

- Actively identify opportunities to streamline the workflow process and reduce the administrative burden

- Ensure all transactions are accounted for in line with FRS102
