Senior Executive/Assistant Manager - Legal - Project Contract - Oil & Gas Firm - Mumbai


Law Graduate with 2+ years of experience with Power/Infrastructure/Construction/ Heavy Engineering

Candidates with experience in handling high value project contracts would be preferred.

Prime Responsibilities:

1. Ensure adherence to established contracts management procedures

2. Timely review and compilation of LOA, and contractual documents before execution with the Subcontractors

3. Analyse reasons for delays and disruptions, identify client related reasons and support the Project Manager in issuing notification and change orders to the client in consultation with cross-functional teams

4. Support the Project Manager in all contractual discussions with the client/subcontractors

5. Develop an understanding of the internal workings of client's project management and other departments (like Legal, Finance, and Operations) to ensure effective discussion/ resolution of contractual claims

6. Support Project Manager in identifying insurance requirements for the project, monitor renewal and closure of insurance policies

7. Provide inputs on local tax laws, INCOTERMS, FIDIC etc. to the Project Manager

8. Obtain validation on legal review from the Legal function

9. Support the project team on contract administration throughout the project lifecycle (change orders, scope extensions, closeout)

10. Provide inputs to Project Manager to prioritize change orders and build the basis for negotiation with the client

11. Provide inputs to enable procurement and construction, formulate 'back to back' T&C for inclusion in agreements with subcontractors/ vendors

12. Support Project Manager in Valuation of Variation Orders/approved, EOT drafting/approval, Deviations Approved/ Settled, Leakages, promptness in raising notifications, contractual correspondence
