Senior Engineering Manager (Backend)

Gamifi is hiring Sr. Engineering Manager (Backend) for one of the leading Internet / eCommerce firms based out of Bangalore.

Major Responsibilities:

- Liaise with product managers to shape the business OKR roadmap; represent and be accountable for the technical output of the team and improve specific business KPIs

- Establish plans and oversee the delivery and management of multiple engineering teams

- Mentor senior engineers and leads, and conduct 1-1s to help them advance to the next level; inspire a culture of high-ownership and of blameless retrospectives and RCAs

- Be hands-on with technology: work with the engineers when they are in the trenches and be involved with the problem-solving exercise

- Proactively lead stakeholder communication related to deliverables and risks; collaborate across back- end/QA teams and apps to ensure all teams are working towards a common goal

- Help scale the organization, and attract and retain talent

- Encourage teams to keep their documentations updated as the architecture evolves

Prerequisite:

- At least 10 years of experience in software development and delivery, with at least 5 years as a hands-on, technical individual contributor (preferably related to financial products and lending)

- At least 2 years of experience in leading small and mid-sized teams of developers

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to monitor workload, lead a high-performing team, and work on multiple projects at once

- Excellent written & verbal communication skills focused on improving collaboration, knowledge, and information exchange across all stakeholders

- Strong systems design experience, having scaled distributed systems in products; experience going through the complete software cycle of delivering world-class software and services across back-end, mobile or web

- Strong programming skills in Kotlin / Go / Java / Node.JS / Ruby on Rails similar technologies

- Comfortable working in environments where boundaries are not clearly defined; ability to plan, prioritize, estimate, and execute releases with a good degree of predictability

Please Note: We need people from B2B / B2C or FinTech or Product Start ups are preferred to apply. Preferable who have worked on building large scale fault tolerance application layers.
