Senior Director, Product Management
The Head of Product Management is responsible for the overall Product Management practice. As such s/he covers the following roles:
- As a Product Management Leader, s/he develops/defines and drives the Product Vision and strategy of a given Product Line.
- As a seasoned Product Management practitioner and leader, s/he is responsible for carrying forward and expanding
UNDERSTAND MARKET AND CUSTOMERS:
- Identify customer needs (informs the product vision) with key input from sales, etc.
- Conduct research to understand customer behavior including how they are using existing solutions
DEVELOP PRODUCT STRATEGY:
- Lead product management (product strategy and functional product management) with direct link with R&D, establishing servicing, functional and operational quality standards.
- Product's strategic positioning and value for company and customers
CUSTOMER DISCOVERY:
- Identify customer value drivers following standard process
- Generate preliminary list of features including customer-centric, business mandatory (e.g., compliance, billing, etc.), non-functional requirements (e.g., metrics, tech debt, etc.)
ITERATIVE DEVELOPMENT:
- Iterate on solutions, epics, features and prototypes (update Product Requirement Documents as needed)
- Iterate on design and test with users (concepts, wireframes, prototypes, finalized screens)
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT PRACTICE LEADERSHIP:
- Define in close collaboration with the Central Organisation and the local leadership the Product Management strategy and define, evolve and communicate the Product Management practice in line with business needs; applying best practices from other industries and enterprises
Create a strong, resilient, continuously evolving Product Management team that focuses on:
- Customer value generation; evolving practices to enrich our value hypotheses, including value measurement enablers in all product evolutions and following the value realization and adoption of our solutions with our customers
- Customer centricity; putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, adapting to market changes and needs and foster solution adoption
- Define the local people strategy (profiles, talent pipeline, sourcing, resource assignment, key talent management, etc.)
- Attract, recruit, and efficiently ramp-up the Product Management workforce that is empowered and works collaboratively.
- Maintain strong morale and engagement; valuing the contribution of each product manager and promoting a culture of recognition
- Apply and follow-up objectives for individuals defined as per Business Domain goals
- Define and continuously evolve a detailed curriculum of a SAFe Product Manager; drawing a path for each individual towards this target of excellence; follow up with each product manager regularly on their individual training plan.
- Assist, guide, coach and motivate team members in the PM practice.
- Manage local HR activity and procedures related to their area/department (incl. assessment, development, motivation and pay review)
- Ensure timely and appropriate communication to team members regarding local organization information.
- 10 + years of experience in senior Product Management (customer solution) or commercial positions.
- 5 years of experience in People Management
- Client facing experience
- In-depth understanding of the travel industry & expertise in and up-to-date knowledge of market dynamics and traveler behaviors
