Primary responsibilities will include :
- Actively engaging with onshore finance and accounting departments to assess ongoing needs and provide staffing and support to meet the needs
- Establishing a staffing structure and leading recruitment efforts to build a team in Chennai to support the onshore finance and accounting processes
- Ongoing leadership and management of the local finance and accounting team by ensuring appropriate service levels are achieved to assist the onshore controller in the overall success of the accounting and finance departments
- Establishing and leading the various sub-teams to support the Company's overall accounting operations, including, but not limited to:
- Month end close
- Fixed assets
- Reconciliations
- Revenue/expenses
- AR/AP
- Financial reporting (internal or external)
- Processes, controls, desk top procedures around accounting operations
- Financial systems (ERP) support
- Providing audit support and various financial reporting and compliance requirements where necessary
This role will report to the Chief Accounting Officer in the US.
Required skills/qualifications:
- 12+ years of prior relevant Finance & Accounting experience
- Degree in related field of study
- Excellent English and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a customer service mindset with stakeholders
- Previous experience working with US teams and various time zones
- Ability to manage and lead a staffing base with various technical expertise in finance/accounting areas
- A team player who can build relationships and work across the organization
- Strong influencing and coaching skills
- Strong executive presence
- Ability to travel globally as needed
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Big 4 experience
- Chartered Accountant
