Sr Category Manager - Value fashion
Reporting to : Head Buying and Merchandising
Client : Leading Fashion Value retailer having stores across Tier 2/3/4 towns
Category Size : 500 Cr
No. Of stores : 125+
Location : Gurugram
Key Result Areas :
- Managing a turnover of INR 200 crores.
- Directing people in various categories of Apparels (Men- s/Ladies/Kids)
- Establishing ABPs for stores & categories; OTBs; launching new season; planning new store, planning assortment /option for stores, planning allocations, MBQ/target stock fixing, sourcing of merchandise for all fashion categories for zone considering the local flavour
- Ensuring category profitability; optimizing gross margin, improving net margin, per square feet returns, year-on-year growth, increasing the ticket size (ASP), analysing fast/slow movers
- Adhering to optimum stock levels, ensuring no instances of stock outs and over stocking, stock planning & allocations & merchandise mix for different stores; timely updating of ARS; maintaining forward cover
- Scheming aging of stocks, managing season changeover, ensuring freshness on floor by keeping season out inventory at low & keep stock health perfect
- Planning manpower for apparels specific, store staff training for category inputs; developing training modules; managing & supporting team recruitments
- Determining markdown & margin targets, planning for promotions in coordination with VM & Marketing team, analysing of promotions effectiveness
- Conducting marketing research & competition analysis for fashion trends as per region requirement, performing layout study & plano gramming for apparels sections
- Executing MPM (Merchandise Presentation Methods) for apparels in line with the customer shopping behaviour
- Impacting organisation profitability through effective management decisions and new business development
- Developing, reviewing & reporting on the business development division's strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives were well understood & executed by the team
